If you can somehow purchase or have these things while on welfare, you should be kicked out-

Tobacco

Alcohol

Lottery tickets

A cell phone with a plan that costs more than $20 a month

A vehicle with a resale value of more than 5 grand

Children/Additional children

Non-necessity purchases of over $20- like TV, video game systems, boom boxes, etc.

Anything with a payment beyond housing rent.

People on welfare should be required to have an itemized list of every item that is a non necessity they purchase. Necessities include food, water, rent, washer/dryer. Dishwashers are not a necessity.

The entire welfare idea is bull! It is not the tax payers responsibility to feed America. The individual is responsible to feed themselves. And if they are so incompetent in life that they can't feed themselves, then natural selection should take them out of the gene pool!
When 20% of Americans are on the welfare payroll, it proves a massive failure in people's willingness to work. It has nothing to do with employment or low wages. Let a few of the bums starve to death and the others will take note and get to working.

Too many people take advantage of welfare and make it so people that really need it can't get it. Some major changes need to be made in the system.

legalize weed and dump the foodstamps the taxes alone would feed and cloth the homeless and hungry and possibly help chill people out enough to function in society

Don't forget a felony arrest record. Convicts should never get welfare or disability for anything less than being a true cripple. Bunch of scumbags running around with disability for anxiety or depression but still downing pills and booze.

1. Are you sure it's 20%?
2. Quite a few people are employed, but don't make enough money to live. Is this right to you?
3. Rural areas get welfare, but not like that. Many have unnecessary jobs offered, where in reality it would have made more sense not to have the job.

yes, nationally the average is 20%. 1 in 5 people are on welfare, government dole.
No, it is not right that they don't make enough to live. But you are missing the point. It is NOT my responsibility as a tax payer to compensate those that "don't make enough to live". Get a second third job, grow a garden, do something other than simply take hand outs.
And just cause welfare pays more than a job, does not make it ok to turn down a job! It takes a real low life scum sucking car chasing dog to accept welfare over work.

sounds like you have never been in that situation. Those who haven't been there shouldn't judge. Grow a garden takes money time and effort and if you barely have enough gas money to get to your first job how are you going to try to get applications to a second job or third. I hope you are never in a situation where you need financial help. I wouldn't wish it on anyone.

They should do away with welfare. And even if they don't they should make strict regulations on it. Drug testing for example. And no pets allowed. If you can't afford humans why should be be allowed to have pets and have to pay money for them.

More than one kid out of wedlock, drug abusers, so-called "learning disability" (unless TRULY mentally retarded), convicted felons who are not disabled physically, anyone with a vehicle that is under 10 years old AND/OR a "luxury make", anyone whose vehicle has expensive, oversize rims, illegal aliens, aliens who have proven to be undesirable (DEPORT THEM, TOO), and ALL LAZY, ABLE-BODIED BUMS, REGARDLESS OF RACE OR GENDER, ESPECIALLY IN THE CITIES.

I've never been in that situation because I have always worked hard. And gone without things that I've wanted when I needed to pay rent and buy food. And I absolutely have every right to judge!! When people are asking for hand outs, the people giving the food/money can and should make judgment about giving. We would be fools to give money and food away unconditionally. Don't try and make us sympathetic to people that can't afford has. A billion Asians walk to work, school, the store and back home every day! If they can do it, Americans can do it.

You've worked so hard my friend, you've failed to see that this situation is designed by the government itself, to keep people from being independent. There are those that are less fortunate, and those that play the system.

Another way to solve some of the issues welfare has created is to drug test on pay day. You test positive; NO CHECK!

There are no less fortunate. We are masters of our own fortunes. Determiners of our destinies. Not slaves to circumstance or subjects in a master plan.

not all people who are receiving government assistance are lazy like you are implying. The good ones work hard and still struggle. Not everyone can afford to go to college or have their parents pay their way to college to get that wonderful degree so they can get a good job with good pay. America is has a lot of problems that need to be fixed so all people can afford to go to college and get that nice job with good paycheck.

I know people work hard and still suffer. And I know college is expensive. But neither of those things mean the government (my tax dollars) should spend money to feed and house those people. It is NOT the governments responsibility.
If you work hard and struggle, work harder and struggle less. And if you are so sympathetic to the lower class, you go help them. But don't force me to help by taxes.
