So what's the deal with the new Pool Hall in Nortonville in the old Dugger's Hardware building? Some nights I drive by there and there are so many cars there you can't even get into the lot. Obviously there's more going on than just pool I'd say. In fact, I've heard from someone who goes there quite often that they hold huge poker tournaments for large sums of money each week. Makes you wonder what else is going on there besides that and which government official or police agency they're paying off to keep from kicking in the door?

No, it's people like you that ignore crime and wrongdoings in their hometown and turn a blind eye to it is why God doesn't talk to us anymore.

You should run in there with a six shooter in each hand and a Bible in your pocket. Force them to listen to some scripture about gambling and get the hell out. You better hope they are not packing heat, or you'll fail miserably. Maybe that will work and you can convert someone to Christ while your at it.....OR....you can wait till you notice that there are a lot of cars there and since you firmly believe that there is a poker ring going on there and call the sheriff or Nortonville PD (I would choose the sheriff) and tell them that there are people playing poker there and they will come in and rain 10 different kinds of hell upon them, they don't do much anyway, so a little excitement would probably cheer them up. Trust me when I say this, it is not really that big of a deal. They are not bothering you or anyone else. If you feel like you need to put a stop to that madness, you should start a bike club (read past posts) and you can be the county heroes. Gambling happens ALL THE TIME in HopCo. I have been to several houses and played a few rounds of stud and TexHoldem. Some are small games (300 dollars max), while I have been to one where the pot was well over 5,000- one fellow there didn't have the money to go in, so he put his tractor up for grabs and lost it, HAHAHA!!! All in all, and for the most part, there was no serious players at any I have been too, just a bunch of guys having a good time and a few beers. The only gambling ring that I regret is going to a cock fight in Slaughters, I guess I have a bleeding heart for animals at times, I thought it was a cool idea, but I felt like a sick bastard after going. Now, gambling with an animals/human life is not right and that should be stopped. Now don't get me wrong, I love to eat meat and I hunt, but causing consistent pain and suffering to an animal to gain a buck or two is not right.

It's not so much the fact that there is gambling going on there. Personally, I think gambling should be legalized in the state of Kentucky. We already have the lottery, horse races, and church bingo which are all forms of gambling. But it's the fact that its blatantly obvious that something is going on there besides just pool and in a public place when there are others from Nortonville who have been busted for the exact same thing, gambling. So why are they allowed to get away with it then? Who's palm are they greasing that the others forgot to grease? Plus, I've also heard of drugs being sold out there so God knows what else is going on there besides just gambling. What's next? Prostitution?

Everyone knows they sell drugs out of there. It's no big secret. In fact the girl who caused the wreck out near Dawson last year that killed 3 ppl and seriously injured a 4th was a frequent customer down there of some of their pharmaceuticals. As far as who's palm they're greasing...nobody knows.

You people that know so much about this business, gambling, drugs, pay offs and so on, I have a question for you. Why don't you post who owns the building and or business? why don't you name names and lay it all out instead of starting rumors. Could it be you are just cowards?

Jonas, it's not surprising. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that there's a lot more going on there than just pool when the parking lot is packed.

Sounds like someone needs to brush up on the law. I can assure you that playing poker for money in any form is not legal in the state of Kentucky. It doesn't take a genius to figure that out. I can also assure you that you don't have a permit to gamble in the state of Kentucky. Get real.

Wrong sir. Slots nor table games are permitted in the state of Kentucky.
Source: My brother in law works in law enforcement and will tell you the same.
Better go back and check those laws once more.

Also online gambling is not permitted within the state of Kentucky and several other states for that matter. I know it's a stupid law and I don't necessarily agree with it, but it is the law.

Lol and I'm the idiot for not knowing that gambling is illegal in the state of Kentucky? The "certain amount" that you refer to determines whether your illegal gambling is classified as a misdemeanor or a felony. Check into it. What's more puzzling is the fact that you would actually come on a public message board and admit to your crimes. Not too bright pool player.
