Well no I don't know of anything.I certainly never got any help buying for my kids on Christmas. The lady on the front page of the Messenger has 5 kids in that photo.I'd bet a dollar to a doughnut that she has them sighned up every year. The point I'm trying to make is,if you can't afford to raise your kids without sponging off the local charities every year, then for Gods sake, quit having them.I know there are some people who are having a hard time right now,but when you have the same people year after year and they have added to the brood, you got to draw the line somewhere.I personally know people who draw dummy checks[crude I know, but they get them because they claim not to be able to read and write, and I know better than that] and food stamps and still wait for the charities to buy thier kids Christams and a food basket for thier meal. What I'm saying is,they know Christmas is comming just like everyone else.If they can't be bothered to get up off thier azzes and do something about it,then they shouldn't be able to sign up for all the freebies every year. There a new people who have to enter the system all the time, let's spread it around.I bet if the ones who work the system every year had to fin for themselves or do without for a year or two in order to help out some of the new people on the doles, they would darn sure get up and go do something about it.

It is nothing like that my friend has always took very good care of her kids but she just lost her job an her place so before you judge someone think about what could be going on in their life. She has never asked for help she is just in a tight spot this year an I was trying to help her out, not everyone is just lazy an out to get free stuff

I am not sure how this works; however, there is a place I belive in Nebo. Garment something, you might try them. I commend your thoughtfulness toward your freind. Sorry ,to hear of her great loss at this time of year . Anytime is terrible ,but now is extremely hard. My prayers are with you and your freind. I hope everything works out for the children.

Common Garments is the name of the place.I would be leary of any church organization who houses and protects pedophiles and murderers. Not trying to be argumentitive, but just letting you know.

Im very sorry to hear about your struggles through christmas . You are in my prayers also . For those that know who they are who get on here tryin to just bash this woman for struggling to get christmas for her children really should be ashamed of themselves ! Its people like you who always on here tryin to make every damn thread you come across look like noone cares ! Lets see if its true what youve prob said about " KARMA being a BIOTCH " ! This woman didnt ask you for your jealous ass worthless comments , she politely asked about her kids christmas , just wait for a year you may need help or anything else for that matter and lets just sit back and watch someone try and just laugh at you for being so in debt you cant see light ! At least this woman is worried about her kids and not some random bullshit she wants to go spend all her kids child support on or all her hubbys money on ! Grow up ,!

just couple of quick thoughts:

1) There are several charities in Hopkins County that help at Christmas, but you have to get in early to make the list. Like mid October is when the start making the list. Also, these organizations cross reference and although some may double dip or use them over and over, they try to keep that to a minimum.
2) Yes, Common Garments is a faith based organization that helps and No it does not house pedophiles and murderers. There was an unfortunate incident years back and now they only house women and children in their shelter. Everybody makes mistakes, and they learned from theirs but continue to do good work.

I hate to hear of her or anyones struggles at Christmas, especially if her kids really didn't get anything, and especially since it is so late to be asking. That's what I said before, did she not know Christmas was comming like everybody else,or was she snoozing under a rock somewhere?I know that sounds bad,but everybody I know is having a hard time right know, but we are not just now comming out of a stupor and realising Christmas is just about here,we got up off our azzes and done something about it.Now as far as the money deal you were speaking about,my opinions about that are even harsher,so maybe I'll just keep them to myself this time.Merry Christmas.

How about WTTL toy drive? We have given toys and money to them for years. You may also try st Vincent. They help out several people year round. Does your friend not attend church? We always try to help those in our congregation who are having a hard time, especially at Christmas!
