Shows how big business gets away with everything in this country, so now they can reopen, get millions in tax breaks and pay slave wages, still great for a community that needs anything they can get for work,But then feed them a line of how family oriented Berry is,what a poor excuse for a company and a government that allows that.

Well if the lazy non Mexicans would get off their butts and go to work instead of thinkin somebody owes them something or thinkin theyre to good to work for a low starting wage then maybe they wont have to hire Mexicans!

What was the specific reason for the plant closing, and why are they receiving funding to reopen the same facility that closed just a few months ago? This sounds more like a Ponzi scheme, by Berry to rake in some cash and simply close it again when their cooked books show another lose. Does any of this sound just a little suspicious to anyone else? Will Berry's cred be just a little suspect with most local residents, or is it a market of "any job, at any cost"?

That plant was a rexam plant and they paid better than berry. It was the right move to close it down they moved 50% of the work to plants closer to the buyer so it save money on shipping but they could if changed the plant then instead of getting rid of the high wages and starting over with lower paying jobs. But I guess a job is a job.

When the dust settles, those wanting a job with Berry plastics will apply for them. Those who think the pay is unfair, will not. Chances are, all the jobs will be filled.

Gawd damnnnn! I made ten bucks per hour, 36 years ago. How, just f'n how, does a family, or for that matter, a single person, make ends meet at that pay rate? If you were to do the math on wage to current inflation rate....there's no way you're keeping pace with inflation. No way! I'll bet the turn over rate stays high, too. It's easier to fire an at will employee who's approaching a pay raise, and hire new ones at a starting rate. Best of both worlds.

Daily Horoscope for May 18

Taurus

Loved ones are hard to handle today because they refuse to do what you ask. It's a very trying experience but there doesn't seem to be much you can do about it. You might also see a new side to a certain person now, perhaps when they talk about something that's very important to them which you knew nothing about until now.
