I heard through the grapevine that Gary Bell was forced into retirement by John Hudson so that the new principal could be placed there. Now, they have a new vice principal (from Lincoln Co.) who doesn't have control over the students. Has anyone heard these things?

No one was forced into retirement. Mr. Bell didn't decide until the last minute that he was going to retire. The faculty and staff were scrambling to get his retirement party ready because he was still not sure what he wanted to do. Mr. Bacchus is doing a fine job at MMS.

Mr. Bacchus is doing okay, but Patton doesn't have a clue, or control. Thinks she's still sitting in a elementary school. She's letting kids get hurt in there and not doing anything about it. It's getting bad.

AB is an excellent teacher. He SHOULD have got the vice principal job. They took him out of his classroom for a few weeks and then robbed him of the job.

it is absolutely true that gary bell was forced into retirement. the only reason it took him so long to decided was he was weighing his options of putting up with john hudson’s BS or retirement and I am not repeating any rumor i heard i know this first hand. bacchus needs to relize his not in elementary school anymore. this new lunch schedule of his is a joke and those little tiny tables he put in are just sad. mms took a hard hit when mr. bell left and now i’m afraid some if it’s best teachers will follow.

Yeah i don't like the new lunch either..my son is in 7th grade and eats with 6th graders all of his 7th grade friends have a different lunch,intermurals..etc..from him, he is miserbal and hates school now. This kills me as a parent because he has always liked school. He makes excellent grades. Good attendance. Now he'd rather not go."Sad"

I was worried when I found out Bacchus would be the new principal. He was a lousy Special Ed at Madison Grade and now, from the times I've already spoken to him this year and the things my kids are telling me, he's lousy at this position too. Seems like he's to busy trying to punish the middle schoolers for being teenagers to really let them learn. I know that in Middle School there needs to be some control, but splitting all the kids up may not be the best way to go. Now I hear there is talk about uniforms and he banned skull clothing ... I think he should find better things to do than nitpick. He wants the kids to be robots and have no personality of their own. He's to busy trying to exert his power to actually figure out how to make middle school and safe and good experience for these kids.

I totally agree with you! I talked to a MMS teacher today. I was told that Bacchus is doing away with the "High Flyer" program!! If you don't reward kids for good behavior then why should they be good? My child makes excellent grades and has excellent behavior. He is at Middle School and should get a little more freedom but Bacchus thinks its grade school. My child liked it at first but not now. Don't fix something that isn't broken!

Thank You , it's nice to know I'm not the only one who feels that way. He isn't giving these kids a chance to feel good or be good. Complaining to the superintendent doesn't do any good either.... it feels like we're just supposed to ignore our kids being unhappy and say that's life, and that's not right. Life is unfair, but it shouldn't be so lousy that they wanna drop put before they even hit High School. I haven't looked, but I would love to know the dropout rates for Boone County and the numbers of people that make it to college around here.

Also Bacchus thinks it's grade school because that's where he spent most of his career so far. He's fairly young anyway, but i know up until about 3 years ago he was a special ed teacher at Madison Grade school and he was horrible. One of my daughters has a learning prob. and I had to have her independently tested to get her in special ed because even though she was failing everything he didn't think she needed testing. He has no business as a principal and it seems like hespent so much time with Special Ed grade school kids that he doesn know how to make things work in a mainstream middle school.

your kids are in special ed because theyre stupid. nothin can fix that.. should have taught them something before school besides how to ride a four wheeler and flick a cigarette. and gary bell is a lousy excuse for a principal. i've experienced it first hand by being around student, parents, and faculty members.

No, you ignorant excuse for a human being , 1 of my 3 children is in special ed because she was born with a diability. And no, when other kids were out playing she was in counseling, and testing and getting tutoring, anything we could do to try and help her. That stament shows what a heartless and ignorant person you are. My child is anything but stupid! She is a wonderful little girl that needs a little extra help in the classroom . I hope your words come back to bite you and you end up with a sopecial needs child you cruel bastatrd. Then, you'll know how sick and furious your comment made me.

Daily Horoscope for December 22

Gemini

If you're currently keeping something secret it will really start to prey on your mind today and you'll worry about blurting it out at the wrong moment. It's one of those days in which you're absent-minded and completely wrapped up in your own thoughts. As a result, it will be hard to concentrate on anything else and this won't go down well in certain quarters.
