But the coal industry's woes go way beyond Obama's policies.

Utility companies are increasingly ditching coal in favor of cheaper, cleaner natural gas. In addition, the recession and improved energy efficiency have crimped demand for power.

Looking ahead, the coal industry faces a rule going into effect in 2015 that tightens the amount of mercury coal plants can emit, as well as regulations on mountain-top mining. Both will make coal production and coal-fired power plants more expensive.

The rules themselves are not Obama's doing, although he has implemented them fairly quickly. Most stem from the Clean Air Act, which was signed by Richard Nixon and strengthened during the first Bush presidency. Pretty sure Nixon and Bush were/are Republican leaders

Your lack of class is apparent. Playing some war game on your xbox doesn't make you a veteran.

In the sixties and seventies, students were taught that pollution was a bad thing. And something needed to be done, because it was destroying our environment. Its taken years for those students to grow up. The students that were taught this are now in positions to do something about it. Are they right? or are they wrong? I would say they are right. I also would say that clean coal technology needs to be developed as soon as possible. Not just for West Virginia, but for the whole world. Do you realize how much Smoke China is putting out. The people over their are complaining about how Smokey it is.

My utmost gratitude and respect to all who serve our country so we have the freedom to vote anyway we want.. Then sit around and voice our opionions and complain why our party didn't win or celebrate that they did. As shame to anyone who who doenst give the proper gratitude where it's due so you can sit around and whine and complain and run your mouth like a jerk to someone who sacrificed for you .. Because you'r free to do so. Carry on.
Thank you to all our Vets.

I am truly sickened by the way some on here behave. I do not know if this man is truly a vet or not. But I also have no reason to doubt him. We would have nothing without our veterans. You should be ashamed at the disrespect you display. Everyone has a right to their opinion this is true, but dont speak of patriotism while you bash our veterans

If you go to the WV Secretary of State's website you can see the 32% of Boone County voted for Obama. Who are these people? They obviously do not work, they must be the recipient class. It is shocking that people can not see the damage that him and his people are doing to our country. Abortion is supported by everyone in his cabinet. Abortion should be called sissors in back of baby's scull. Doesn't sound as nice, I know. If people would go to youtube and watch an actual abortion, they would be sick that people could actually do such a barbaric thing. Gay marriage is supported by the Obama administration. A dude putting his manhood where another man evacuates his bowels doesn't make any sense. The people who voted for Obama must be the ungodly, freebie seekers. The choice of Freedom vs. Free Stuff was easy for those type of people...Freedom isn't Free...and NEITHER IS FREE STUFF, somebody works to pay for your ObamaPhone and your Medicaid and your Food Stamp Card and the list goes on and on...
