Do you only read those stories in the paper that support your view of reality? Numerous wildlife experts have chimed in that they doubt tranquilizers would have provided an adequate solution here and that the cops did the right thing.

Also, Kass is a columnist expressing his opinion for entertainment purposes (in this case), not a journalist reporting news.

To all the other cat lovers whining about the unfortunate yet unavoidable demise of the cougar: 27 kids have been killed by gunfire in Chicago this year. 27 kids who were just as innocent as this cougar, but unlike this wild predator, they actually belong in Chicago.

From what I saw on the TV news, that cougar looked like he'd been eating pretty well. I just wonder how many cats and dogs in the area have come up missing? Thank goodness it appears that no children have! I don't know much about how tranquilizers work, but it seems that they take time, and who knows what a VERY displeased 150 pound cougar might do during that time? The cougar is a magnificent animal, and I mourn the death of this one, but, when it comes right down to it, I say, "Better the cougar than a person!"

I agree with shooting the cougar. It is a wild animal and does not want to curl up to a bowl of milk. The cougar had just jumped a six-foot fence, according to one eyewitness, before being gunned down John Dillenger-style in a back alley. That's the Chicago Way!

What is the matter Wisconsin Reader? Upset that Mr. Kass is asking the hard questions concerning your messiah? Obama is as dirty as they come, and it will eventualy come out just how filthy he is. He is after all a product of the Chicago Machine.

One final thought; Obama is the 21st century equivilant of Jimmy Carter. All those who are over 40 and honest with themsleves will admit that this is true. If Obama winns he will replace Carter as the worst President ibn History.( Sorry Kool Aid drinkers, it is not GWB)
