Stanton Optical on Gammon Rd, Madison, WI was a great deal and provided great service. At the time of my visit they were offering a special that included a free contact eye exam and 50% off glasses. I was very skeptical initially, but it ended up to be a great deal! Dr. Clements was great and so was his staff! Would definitely recommend!

I also was a first time customer of Stanton Optical and was extremely impressed. The Dr. needed to prescribe an antibiotic eye drop for an infection and while he could have made me fill a $100+ prescription because I needed a longer treatment than the sample 5 day drops, he gave me two. Overall both my wife and I we're very happy with the people and the pricing. A++

A couple of weeks ago I was in a bit of a bind. My son having his driver's test early the next morning, he had broken his glasses beyond repair the night before. On a friend's referral, I had called Stanton Optical in Augusta, GA (in spite of a few negative reviews I found online). From the start they were very courteous and made accommodations for him so he wouldn't miss any more school. Even with the brief power outage that they experienced that caused the main comp. to go down, they made sure that his glasses were made and ready for pick-up by closing time.

Please rest assured that I am not an employee of Stanton Optical nor am I affiliated in any way. I'm sure those that have written negative reviews have had bad experiences. All it takes is one bad experience to leave a "bad taste" in someone's mouth. Naturally, bad news travels faster than good news so I am here to provide a different customer account.

Overall, I found Stanton Optical to be convenient and competitively-priced. The staff was friendly, attentive, and professional. I've been to a few other optical providers in the area and this has been my best experience thus far.

I think the issues here go back to what is typical in the business world: a few bad apples ruin the lot. If you deal with someone at a business that isn't getting the job done, it is your right to ask for someone else to help you. Now, if the management/ownership doesn't do right by you, that's a WHOLE different story!

Stanton Optical is great and I think my family will be going there from now on.

I will NEVER go here again. I went in because I have headaches and I wanted to see if I needed glasses.
I was told that I needed no line bifocals. I got one pair a week after my appointment. I wore then for 3 days and got horrible migraines from the glasses. I called and told them not to make the second pair because the prescription was wrong. I was going to vacation and couldn't go in until i got back. On my vacation I got a call telling me the second pair was in. I went in and they told me that I needed to see the doctor again, because they will not give a refund for their mistakes. I told them that I had awful customer service the first time i went it. When I told them who it was that helped me the first time, I was yelled at and told that i shouldn't talk bad about the person that helped me because he was murdered in a drive by. This is extremely unprofessional. The second prescription was only $100 and I was told that I would be paying for the cost of $319 for the first set they made me that was wrong. The second prescription took 3 months to come and when it did it was wrong again. It turns out I have perfect vision and didn't need glasses. The customer service was awful and I was never issued a refund. I tried speaking with the manager on countless occasions. I made appointments with him and every time I went in he would either not be there for our appointment or wouldn't come out from the back room. I talked to him on the phone and he told me that I wouldn't go to a pharmacy and return medicine I purchased, so why would i get the same for glasses. After countless hours going into the store and on the phone I was told that store did not document any of the process and I was told I was a liar and the prescription was correct. It took me one year to finally get some one to call me from corporate.
DO NOT GO HERE.
If you need glasses it is worth the extra cost to go to a place that knows what they are doing and cares about customer service.

Worst case of Switch and Bait, prices are very inflated so they can talk you into a deal. Sorry but except for Dr. Mooney you should skip this place better service and prices are elsewhere.

My wife ordered two pair of bifocals - one regular and one shades for a total cost of $322. After a month the shades finally came in and they were not bifocals. We talked to the general manager of the Jupiter, Florida store who was very rude and combative. We cancelled our order and they did return our money, but the experience was far from pleasant. Incompetance combined with poor personal skills. Never again!

I decided not to do business there when they polluted the airwaves with their "squawking chicken" commercials showing eyeglasses "laying" duplicate pairs.

PROGRESSIVE LENSES ARE ALL THE RAGE AND SUPPOSE TO BE THE GREATEST THING FOR OLDER PEOPLE WHO NEED BI/TRIFOCALS . THESE ARE THE WORST PAIR OF GLASSES I HAVE EVER TRIED TO WEAR . TRIED , BECAUSE YOU CANT WEAR SOMETHING FOR VISION IF EVERYTIME U SLIGHTLY MOVE YOUR HEAD OR EYES EVERYTHING BECOMES BLURRED AND OUT OF FOCUS .. I TOLD THEM AT STANTON WHEN I FIRST PUT THEM ON AND THEY TOLD ME I HAVE TO ADJUST . WELL SORRY I CANT ADJUST TO WALKING AROUND DAMN NEAR BLIND ! DID THEY TRY AND SEE IF THERE WAS A MISTAKE WHEN I SAID SOMETHING , NO . I WAS TOLD NOT TO DRIVE WITH THEM , THANKS , IF I WERE RETARDED THAT WOULD BE HELPFUL . I WILL BE GETTING A FULL REFUND AND HOPEFULLY SOMEBODY FIRED FOR INCOMPETENCE .
