Does a tree lawn belong to the home owner or the city?
I am just wondering if any one knows..

Every road has a road easement. The debth is measured from the center of the road and may vary depending on where you are. At my house it is 30 feet. This is the area where the utilities are placed. It also acts a a saftey buffer for the road so certain obstructions are subject to removal or vegetation subject to trimming. Traditionally the property owner takes care of this area in front of or on the sides of their property (in the case of a corner property), but I do not believe it is part of your formal deed dimensions. A tree lawn...which is the area between the street and the sidewalk in residential neighborhoods is actually part of the road easement. It is considered "public property" as is the the area of road easement.
