This kind of stupid and ignorent jurors, along with the theives they call lawyers is the reason drugs cost a fortune for everybody else. manufacturers are the only ones that do research and introduce new drugs to the public and this is the reason for the uncontrolable prices. You can always find bleeding hearts that let their emotions over-ride their common sence, if indeed they have any to start with. GREED GREED GREED

Agree. No one shoved those drugs on those women. We all take drugs...we all take a chance, they all come with warnings. You agree to take them, then you are going to have to accept what they may to to you. Sad, but true. I think I will sue a paper company. I got a cut fron the edge of the paper and it caused an infection and no warning! I do not mean to make light of this. Cancer is scary thing, but to sue? Everytime we turn around, someone is suing for something. My God people, give it a break. |

In reading these posts I see people who have not been touched by cancer and don't know the facts regarding the drug companies that supress information regarding the safety of the drug. Perhaps learning the facts will help you understand what is going on.

If there was a frivolous lawsuit, it was the Vioxx lawsuit not the prempro class action. I am one of the woman (I was among the 1st 100 women to file a claim)and I am 100% sure that prempro caused my breast cancer. I had to have a mastectomy and can remember the pain and horror still even though it was almost 5 years ago. I am one of 9 siblings, 2nd youngest, and no one in my immediate nor extended has any cancer or any kind. I am the only one that took prempro for at least 8 years. I didn't realize (and I am sure the doctor didn't either) that prempro ingredient, while it has a long pharmacutcal name is PREGNANT HORSE'S URINE! That's what hormones are. Would anyone take that on purpose! I don't think anyone of you understand the facts - proof is in many ways including the pathology reports from the hospital and doctors whom I think know more than any of you. Tell me why since prempro is now a much dose, the incidence of breast cancer has dropped to an all time low - please, make some sense here. Wyeth needs to be punished for ruining so many lives and know the drug was dangerous. Just shut up!

I took premarin for a very short time and during that time, I developed a cancerous breast tumor. And I am the first in my family to have cancer. Last December I had a bilateral mastectomy and so far, my prognosis is good.
I also believe that the drug caused it. I believe, too, that one of these days we will learn how dangerous even birth control pills are for women. Have we all been guinea pigs? So frightening! |

It is amazing how many women there are out there just like you - no history in the family, yet after taking Prempro developing breast cancer. You are right - now that women are refusing to take HRT there is now a drop in breast cancer. It is also amazing that judges are throwing out cases against Wyeth - need to do a little research there!

Dear Mary: I am sorry re your breast cancer, I can certainly relate. Did you take premarin and provera or just premparin? If so, I hope you have talked to a lawyer because this just isn't right, most of these women are well over 50 - the time for menopause and while no one shoved prempro down my throat, I was told it would prevent me from heart attacks, blood clots, breat cancer, and help with the hot flashes and night sweats. Well, after my mastectomy and since then taking cancer medications that cause very severe hot flashes and night sweats and just a joke of what was told to me. Just wait till the women taking the lower dose of prempro in 7 to 10 years when there is another spike in breast cancer, maybe then they will stop this hormone crap altogether.
