Hello, I am considering moving to Madison and I wonder if anyone can give me an advice. I have a 3 year-old son. My husband needs to commute to Fairfield for work. I own a business in Montville but it is part-time and I set my own hours. Will we hit a lot of traffice to and fro? The school rankings seemed to have dropped a bit. Would you say the schools are still good? Do you feel the town is very crowded and/or the houses too close together? I love the town center. I love the family-oriented atmosphere. Any cons that I am overlooking? Thank you very much.

Ava, I currently rent in Madison and have a son who is in preschool. I send him to St Teresa's in Summit only because my wife is a Summit girl. Anyway, we love the town and are hopeful to own in Madison one day although the home prices are pretty high. As for the school system I don't know much about it although I hear good things. The only con for the Madison Chatham area is the traffic. Main Street (Rte 124) is a nightmare pretty much most of the day and is the major throughfare from Rte 78 to Rte 24 and the Morristown area. If you don't mind sitting in traffic a little bit than Madison is IMO one of the nicest towns in New Jersey. Hope this helps somewhat.

Hi,
We were planning to relocate to Madison within 6 months. I have a 3 year old and was looking for a decent preschool that will prepare her for KG...Any advice? Do I enroll my child or put her on any waiting lists for school?
Any advice regarding the public schooling system in Madison? Any comments/reviews regarding the Kirby School in Madison?

Madison school rankings are good..the town is very desireable..its so charming and there are lots of great restaurants. There is a website with school information called great schools. Traffic...Main Street backs up, but it depends where you are in the town..you can take Kings Road, the Shunpike or Columbia Turnpike. Relatively easy access to Rt. 24 and 287. I am a local realtor..

Another perk of living in Madison is that you are only minutes away from a great music school where you learn to play an instrument and write songs!
Sorry for the shameless plug, but I'm from Madison. It's a great town in which to grow up.

I'm from Madison and I think it's a great small town in which to raise kids and live.

Another perk is that you are only minutes from the coolest music school www.originalmusicschool.com
