I will tell you now, Melton is a NUT.
I agree, Jackson has some very bad thugs in it, but the way he is acting borders on insanity. You can't fight thugs with thugs. You have to be smarter than them. Melton has made it worse in Jackson for everyone. He resembles the NAZI party in Germany with his entourage.

All of you people complaining about Franks tactics, MAKE SURE you don't call the police next time those thugs you're standing up for break in your car, your house, rape your daughter, get your son hooked on crack or shoot him dead for not giving them their cut. Make sure you send the ACLU a donation so they can continue to support the DrugDen club that opens up in your neighborhood. And if one of your family happens to get incarcerated, ask for Tommie Green to be the presiding judge, maybe she'll be able to make time while being investigated and censured YET AGAIN for violating Ethics Rules.

NUTS are those who would open the prisons, forgive child molesters, give drunk drivers probation, go to court over "in God we Trust" printed anywhere, and pledge allegiance to the ACLU. Who will these (you) nuts blame when America ceases to exist? Who, under Iran, N Korea, or Nazi Germany rule, will hear you whining super-liberals? Where will your entitlements be then? Melton may not be very polished, but at least he is trying to make a positive difference.
No, I don't like the lies & hypocrisy of the "W" administration any more than you do; but I would love to live in a strong and decent America. JFK "...ask what you can do for your country."

Well for anyone on the outside looking it it would seem that Frank is a good guy with a good heart that's out to do the right thing, in fact I voted for him and it's a mistake I regret every since he took office. First of all Frank is an habitual liar, I mean he can't be trusted about anything he says's. If you would research his time in office you will see what I mean. One of the first lies he told was his record on voting and then where he files homestead, as well as him being a certified law enforcement officer.....the list goes on and on. If you've ever notice Frank in an interview he hardly ever looks up. A sure sign someone is full of deceit. Melton still has to face charges for lying when he was the MBN director and other charges related to him wanting to be a police officer in a Mayors uniform. The Bottom line is that Frank is going to get himself into something even his slick attorneys or money can't get him out of. In the end I think the jury's verdict was a death sentence for Frank because He now believes he's unstoppable and he will conduct himself in that manner and in the end he will stop himself.

Thank goodness for a public servant who has backbone and truly cares about the cityofJackson as evidenced by his actions. I hope he will have others in those drug invested neighborhoods join him in the fight against the crackhouses and criminals who are a blight not only onour neigh-hoods,but our cities and country as well.My hope and prayer is that other cities across our great country will rise up join and join the battle against crime.

Frank Melton is a criminal in his oiwn right. Furhter, he has micromanaged and mismanaged the Jackson police force right into the toilet.
Recvent FBI reports indicate that Jackson is now one of the most dangerous cities in the US.
A dramatic one-year jump in crime placed Jackson among the most dangerous U.S. cities in almost all major crime categories.
The FBI's preliminary Uniform Crime Report for 2006 showed Jackson had a 42 percent increase in violent crime and a 10 percent increase in property crime. A Clarion-Ledger analysis of that data shows Jackson among the top 10 cities in the nation in rape and burglary, top 20 in robbery and total property crime, and top 25 percent in murder, total violent crime and auto theft.
Robberies in Jackson jumped 67 percent in 2006, the largest increase for the city in any crime category. Last year, there were nearly three robberies a day.
Jackson tied with Atlanta and Orlando, Fla., for 24th in the nation in homicides per capita in 2006. The city came in ahead of Memphis, Detroit, Los Angeles and New York. While those cities had many more homicides than Jackson, they also have much larger populations.
The capital city ranked eighth among cities in the FBI report with 160 rapes last year, or nine for every 10,000 residents.
Without adjusting for population size, Jackson had more rapes reported than the much-larger cities of San Francisco, Baltimore and Seattle.
Jackson had 3,817 burglaries in 2006 - about the same number of break-ins as Washington, D.C., a city with three times Jackson's population.
On a per capita basis, Jackson's nearly 22 burglaries per 1,000 residents is seventh in the nation. burglaries represent the city's highest ranking in any crime category in The Clarion-Ledger's analysis of the FBI report.
And this is after two years of this great law-and-order idiot.

What do you suggest the citizens do? the mayor has been given the new name "Teflon Frank", and the city council can not request he be impeached! We all must unite and pray, there has to be a better plan other than to just leave!

A year and half ago, every white person I spoke to expressed that Melton was the answer to Jackson's "crime problems".

Every black person, some of them police officers, expressed that Melton would conduct a drug war from the mayors office. However, it would be against his rivals.

The first group saw a blackface that would run rough-shod over the "crime problems", because they knew if a whiteface did it, it just wouldn't look right.

The latter group seems to have knew better.

As long as the majority of voters base their decision on thin commentary, we will get candidates with thin credentials. Which will benefit the next Bush, I mean Melton that comes along.

Ye olde Frank has stirred up the city of Jackson to such a high level, the people of Jackson, have lost all concept of what is right and wrong. His actions have killed the last chance of the city recovery. Now, lets put one more little comment on the table. Why, does Frank need to be surrounded by minor boys at his home in Jackson without his wife in the picture?????????
I just hope he stays in Jackson and never to move to Madison!!!!!!!!

Although I live in Madison , I am so ashamed ! I still live in Mississippi . I would like to know why the govenor has not said one word about the rash behavior of Frank! Is it because he himself is afraid or is it because he is too busy trying to get to Washington ? Either way he should go for just allowing this to go on in the capitol city .
