One man was facing the same crime and chargesc diffrently as Mr. F Esco and received Fourty years. Mr.F Esco Shouldn't be given Life in prison. He didn't kill anyone. The Judge said that Mr.Esco had been in trouble seen the age 9 year old. If that is so could this be a cry for help. but, instead of giving he help. Like rehabition for a year two.
he take a man from his childrens for life. This I feel isn't justice at all but, railroad. From what I have readed it could be a personal thing between Mr. F Esco and the judge.
My Pray is that Mr. F Esco family don't take this sentences laying down. But, fight all they can so his sentences can be reduce or dismiss.

To the person who posted on this topic first, I must say that it is apparent to me that you are either a friend/relative of the Esco family or you have no clue about the character of this man at all. If you know his history than you know that he has become accustomed to committing crimes and having possible witnesses/victims to his crimes so intimidated that they refuse to testify against him. Log onto the Madison County Herald dated for 8/15/2006 and read his rap sheet. If Mr. Ferlando Esco had committed his crime in Canton I am positive "Mayor" Esco would have found a ay to "take care of this charge" as well. I moved away from Mississippi a long time ago to get away from the home-grown corruption. That City has a reputation for being less than morally correct.
Ferlando Esco is a victim of his own cockiness.
Every dog has his/her day and Mr. Esco has had his!!!

Ms. Ferlandria,

Honey it's okay to love your father unconditionally, you should. Just don't allow yourself to be fooled by his criminal history. The only chance you have at not finding a man who duplicates your father and his bad behavior is to accept that he is corrupt and has caused pain and suffering too many people. use him as an example of what not to be and what type of man to not date or get involved in!

If you were trying to call me a white racist you should have checked your grammar. FYI- i'm not white!

I don't think none of us can judge Ferlando, especially if you have no connection to him or his family. Ferlandria is a child, however i am not not so let me check you. I think you need to be closer to the incidents to judge or call Mr. Esco a criminal. I am not saying that Ferlando is or was a saint but don't judge him. I really don't care what he did however, he never murdered anyone, raped anyone, yet he recieved six life sentence. Was it a racist act,yes i think so because he had an all white jury. And yes i am a family member but then again you are entitled to your own opinion just as i am.

I have followed this case from the beginning and I feel that what happened to Ferlando was an act by the attorney to make a name for himself. All of the evidence that was presented was circumstantial evidence and they relied onthe word of a felon whom they had made a deal with in order to bring forth stronger charges against Ferlando. If you were given a deal to lessen your time and all you had to do was point the finger at someone else I am quite sure you would have blamed Ferlando as well. The media and the attorney portrayed Mr. Esco as a career criminal. If that is the case that has a lot to say about out legal/prison systems- the prisons are there to rehab a person evidently the prison system is not doing there jobs. I feel that this sentencing and this trial was not one that should have been tried in Mississippi or so close to the area where the crime had happened. There were too many individuals who were too close to this trial and that had past dealing with Mr. Esco in order for him to have a fair trial. I hope that his attorneys are working on an appeal because I see several grounds that they will be able to appeal on. Good luck Mr. Esco and I am praying for you and your family

Lets be real. If this was a person of another race the charges would have been less. I lived in Jackson for many years and know first hand that Canton has it's issues. But 6 consecutive life sentences for a man who did not even pull the trigger is a little excessive. It amazes me how you can be convicted so easily in the south on circumstational evidence. If I was a co-defendent I too would point the finger on the next man to save myself. I am not saying by any means that Mr Esco is a saint nor should he be praised for the wrongs that he has done. However right is right. And this is just plain wrong.

It is apparent by looking at the Attorney's Political Sheet he is only trying to get votes. Madison County will stand behind their own to preserve its precious name.

Ferlandria, I realize you probably miss your father quite a bit, but he did a lot of wrong things to a lot of people. The time he received was a bit much, but you have to realize that he did this to himself. I was always taught that in order to have a good life, you WORK for it. Not rob or steal it. The only thing you or anyone else can do now is to lift your father up in prayer and hope that others will learn from the mistakes that he has made. I was told long ago that the examples you set for your children are the things they become. Dont let that be you. I'm ending with, keep loving your father, do well in school and community and earn the life you would like to have.

I'm kin to fred and I feel that the punishment that he received was very harsh. I've known fred all his life and he is not a saint, and yes he need to be punished for the crimes he have commited. But six life sentences with out the possiblity of parole is outrageous. I have three nephews that was killed two as to which was in Canton (madison county) and I see their killers everyday now you tell me where is the justice in that. Everybody make bad choices and he is no exception but be for real, when you try to get killers that killed my nephews and give them at least one day in jail then I will except the harsh punishment given to fred. But i will say this Mary what ever your last name is you are very much wrong and you can go straight to H3LL!!!!!!!!!

I do not think race, Curtis James character, political ambitions, or the jury make-up had anything to do with it. I think that Mr. Ferlando Esco has had multiple oppurtunities to straighten up and get his act together. No, he did not pull the trigger, but he was the mastermind behind the shooting of Mr. James. While I sympatyhize with the child, I think that Ferlando did this to him self by thinking he would not be punished because he was never prosecuted before that cause he had the money to buy his way out. I know personally that Mr. Ferlando Esco is a criminal mastermind. And we must remember, he did the crime in Madison where he should have known that those people were just not going to put up with that foolishness that he did in Canton. Madison is a high priced city with a cozy and comfortable atmosphere and they do not want thugs in there taking down their quality of life, and I personally do not blame them for what they did. I hope that this sends a message to future criminals that no matter how you long you go with getting away, when you do it in the wrong places, you will be dealt with in the highest manner prescribed by law.
