The fair has become a joke the last few years! They need to get some new people to run it or just give up on having it! They should look around to the neighbor counties on how to have a fair!

Since they put blacktop on the parking lot they will not allow them to set up where they use to. Won't let them on the ball field for fear of killing the grass. Time to move it to Huntsville or something.

When they did have rides they looked to be 1970 model rides held together with zip ties and duct tape!

I agree. Look at Bevier that little town puts on an amazing fair every year with big entertainment for free. If that little town can do it we should be able to.

I have nothing to do with the fair...but what I do know is it is not the fair coordinator's fault.
A couple of years ago, we got a new City Manager and a New City Mayor. If they will not let 4-H and the Fair have permits or set up on City property, what is the Fair suppose to do? It will not matter who runs it.....it comes down to who runs the City.

the city officials need to get some new jobs in this town, tear down these old school buildigs that are not being used or fix them so they ca be used. I'm tired of seeing empty buildings in this town not being used,we don't need another bank or check into cash loan shark.I wonder if everybody got together an went to a city hall meeting to complain they would listen

I drove by the "fair". What a joke I think it should be moved back to Huntsville where they can at least set up rides and let people have fun. Oh thats right it is a lot more difficult to just drop off the kids and let them roam for hours alone when it is in Huntsville.

Actually, there are no reasons to drop the kids off at this fair cause there is nothing for them to do.
Your comment about holding the fair in Huntsville, let them have the sales revenue. THAT IS ACTUALLY A GOOD IDEA.

MOVE THE FAIR TO HUNTSVILLE. Their City Government would probably welcome the fair.

The city is going to hell in a handbasket but I don't thank you can blame the city on the poor fair that we have it has been going down hill for the last 8 to 10 years! You might be able to have a fair without rides if you have something going on besides karaoke singers trying to entertain! I agree with moving it to Huntsville and a new Fair Board!!!

City has ordinance that no carnival allowed downtown. Every year they vote to make an exception for the Rotary Railroad Days event. Mayor is member of Rotary.
RC Fair is only for 4-H and FFA kids. It needs to be redone so it is an actual county fair involving all members of the county - that means adults. State Fair is not kids only.
Huntsville is county seat and has grounds for horse show, why not a real county fair? Somebody needs to go to county commission meeting and fair board meeting and see what can be done for next year.

There is no reason that the City of Moberly cannot support the 4H kids and community by allowing a fair.

If they did work out there at the fair gounds/pavilion area, they should of kept the Fair in mind. But, if it does not include Riley or HIS interests, he does not care. Not sure what the heck the rest of the Board is doing. Copenhaver does not give a crap because she wants to run for representative....so to her, she is not rocking the boat with the Council.

If Copenhavor cannot do a good job or stand up on the City Council then why the heck would we trust her to stand up for our community and do the right thing on bigger issues.

Riley needs to step down and let Moberly have a chance. The other towns hate Moberly because of him. Why won't he just leave? Why won't the City Council just ask him to step down?

Daily Horoscope for May 25

Cancer

Today's Full Moon will have a powerful impact on your health during the next few months. Maybe this is the spur you need to inspire you to take better care of yourself, such as improving your diet, getting more exercise or finally consulting the doctor about something that's worrying you. It will also be the end of a chapter connected with your work, but don't fret because this ending will lead on to a new beginning.
