It is a shame to find the 3rd Annual Moharimet Family Pumpkin Stroll and Bonfire has been reported as a parking issue rather than the wonderful community gathering it has proved to be each year. While record crowds attended the Pumpkin Stroll this year the Madbury volunteer firefighters added additional lighting to the crosswalk on Town Hall Road and the short path from church parking lot is paved and well lit. Choosing to park in the Fire Lane and complaining about a ticket is not the point. I expected Foster's Daily Democrat coverage of the Pumpkin Stroll to reflect the wonder of the evening rather than the negative perspective highlighted by the paper. Allow me to offer a different view:

Under a moonlit autumn sky, internationally known storyteller Len Cabral entranced hundreds of families with his tales around the bonfire; a hand-painted mural of stars created by Moharimet students served as a backdrop to this enchanting scene. Everyone strolled the wooded trails beyond the Sugar Shack to admire the nearly 400 lit pumpkins carved by the families of Moharimet. Children played in the woods, sipped cider, and warmed their hands by the bonfire while parents chatted and caught up with friends. Personally, I love the chance for everyone to come together and enjoy the beauty of autumn in New England while sharing our school's strong connection to nature and community with the opportunity to include everyone at Moharimet. I know the Pumpkin Stroll is a favorite and look forward to it's continued success in the future.
