Cocheco Valley Humane Society

On Sunday Nov. 9th I was visiting Cocheco valley Humane Society on behalf of a friend who was looking for a small dog. I did not see a small dog, but I, myself, ended up taking home a cat. I put the cat in the basement so that he would learn that was where his litter box was. The cat sneezed a few times, but I thought nothing of it. He was very afraid, and nobody could get near him unless he was cornered. Then I noticed he sneezed blood a couple times. I tried to bring him back on Monday, but the society is closed Monday and Tuesday, so I had to wait until Wednesday. Over that next two days, the cat urinated all over the basement and left feces everywhere. I was glad to bring him back. When I returned him, the Humane Society refused to refund any portion of my $125.00 adoption fee. I encourage anyone looking to donate to a non-profit agency, be sure they are more concerned with people than getting your money.
