I have been asking the city for YEARS to regulate the fertilizer companies that spread the fertilizer not only on the lawns but all over every sidewalk and driveway. It is absolutely ridiculous when you go walking "the crunching of the fertilizer under your feet" when you are walking on a sidewalk. I have personally asked Scott's on Arrow Drive in Sterling Heights for 3 years not to get it across my whole driveway front to back when the do my neighbors lawn but they are not able to accomplish this and then they wonder why the quality of the lake water is poor. The Scott's company does my neighbors lawn 6-8 times a year and times that all across the city. You have a lot of fertilizer going down the storm drains! I have repeatedly called community relations and code enforcement and I get nowhere.

This ridiculous infatuation with green grass. If America returns to using its land to growing crops and manufacturing again, maybe the value of its real estate will go up again.

spending good money on fertilizer to watch the grass grow and destroy our lakes. Sheesh.
