Our Flag is not only a symbol of our states, it represents our constitutional rights. KNOW YOUR RIGHTS!!! I'm not saying this to to cause trouble, I don't want myself or anyone else losing their constitutional rights like so many have in the past months. This is illegal!!! Any Judge would say "IGNORANCE OF THE LAW IS NO EXCUSE" Why dosnt Redmond know this? Her excuse is "The flag was donated". I don't care if Jesus himself gave her the flag... By federal LAW this is illegal and punishable by a one year prison term.(This is cited reference material... LOOK IT UP YOURSELF)

Currently, the Flag of the united States of America is defined as :

The American Flag of Peace of the united States of America is described as red, white and blue, with thirteen alternating red and white horizontal stripes, and a blue field (union) with 50 stars, one to represent each of the several States. The Flag is proportional,(1 X 1.9). This proportion is easily determined by measuring the length (fly) and dividing by the measurement of the width (hoist). The length divided by the width should be very nearly 1.9. If the flag is not to the correct 1 X 1.9 proportion, it is not an OFFICIAL TITLE 4 U.S.C. 1, 2 American Flag of Peace of the united States of America.

Title 4 U.S.C. 1, 2 and Presidential Executive Order 10834, found in the Federal Register at Vol. 24. No. 166, P.6365 - 6367.

Title 4 U.S.C. 3 provides that anything put on the title 4 U.S.C., 1, 2 American Flag such as gold fringe MUTILATES the Flag and carries a one-year prison term. This is confirmed by the authority of title 36 U.S.C. 176 (g). The gold fringe is a fourth color and represents "color of military law" jurisdiction and when placed on the title 4 U.S.C. 1, 2 Flag, mutilates the Flag and SUSPENDS the Constitution.(Refer to title 18 U.S.C. 242, see Black's Law Dictionary).

As provided by title 36 U.S.C. 173 and Army Regulation 840-10, chapter 2-1(b), the Flag of the united States of America is defined and described in title 4 U.S.C. 1, 2. Civilians must use the title 4 U.S.C. 1, 2 Flag (see title 36 U.S.C. 173 and Army Regulation 840-10, chapter 2-7) and when military flags are displayed by Army Regulation 840-10, chapter 2 and title 36 U.S.C. 175.

I am glad Judge Norene Redmond is finally getting some heat for her knee jerk, irrational courtroom behavior. Here is the story about my "Redmond Run-In" from a few years back:

Just before Christmas a few years back my wife and I got in a verbal argument outside our home. Voices were escalated so one of my neighbors called the Eastpointe police (And I have no problem with this.) The officer came out after we had already gone to bed. So I put my clothes on and my wife and I both came to the door. The officer asked the usual questions in a domestic disturbance call. Then "Sherlock Holmes" (i.e. the officer) noticed a scratch on my wife's had. He asked her where she got it and my wife told the truth. She scratched her hand on the metal hinge on our attic staircase while getting down our X-mas decorations. Well with his "Elementary, my dear Watson" sleuthing, the cop came up with his own idea of how the scratch got there so I was off to jail for the night on a domestic violence charge, with my wife crying and pleading with the officer to just listen to her.

After my arraignment I had a pre-trial hearing scheduled and I thought with my wife in my corner that this would be all over with soon. That was until we ran into "Mean Norene." With my wife in the audience I waited for my turn to explain the officer's mistake. I listened to other defendants give their side of the story to Judge Redmond and she heard everything they had to say for the most part.

One story in particular from one of the other detainees will show just how imbalanced Judge Redmond is: A repeat drunk driving offender was arrested for the "umteenth" time for a DUI and was crying and saying how he was still getting over the death of some family member and was depressed around the holidays and "yadda yadda yadda." Redmond allowed him out on personal bond until his trial.(Pretty soft for a repeat offender I thought.)

Then, as my luck would have it, there was a mix-up at the Macomb County Jail and a whole busload of prisoners were not in the courtroom for their scheduled arraignments. When Judge Redmond asked the Sheriff when he could get them back in the courtroom he explained that it would take some time and it would probably be later that day or in the evening. Well this sent Judge Redmond into a rage. I heard her say that they had to be arraigned that day or be released and that she was going to have to work a longer day than normal and this didn't sit well with her.

Of course I was the next one up after the Judge found out she was going to have to work "overtime." When I tried to explain my story she cut me off and went on one of her now infamous tirades about how she always sees these domestic disputes around the holiday season and that this was just another one of the same cases and that she wasn't going to hear the lame excuses we had about what happened. Then she laid down the proclamation that my wife and I couldn't have any contact whatsoever with each other until my trial date which would be after Christmas and the New Year! When my wife tried to speak (with tears in her eyes) and plead with the Judge she butted in again and scolded her too. She said that she'd seen it all before and that with all the drinking that goes on at the holidays someone would end up dead. Well now I knew who I was dealing with, so I just shut up and hired a good lawyer and eventually everything was cleared up.

I remember hoping that after dealing with Judge Redmond that I had just ran into her on a bad day. Now I can see that this Judge lets her temper get the better of her and throws fairness and impartiality out the window and rules on emotion alone. I feel Judge Redmond deserves all the bad press she is finally getting!! Citizens need to be made aware of her actions by the press so next time she is up for election we can all vote her off the bench!

I cannot believe the arrogance of this woman! Why does Judge Redmond feel like she is above the law? She makes me sick. I have never in my life heard of such an abuse of power and this just tops it!!! I've said it before and I will say it again...SHAME ON YOU JUDGE NORENE REDMOND!!!!!!!!!! You should be taken off the bench and put into an unemployment line!!!!!!!

FYI...other facts the public should know about Judge Norene Redmond. She is the highest paid person in the city...about $140,000 per year, some of which comes from the state. The people that work in her court are some of the highest paid salaries for court employees in the area, and most of them have never passed any basic employment tests and their positions are never posted (for the public to apply.)

HEY JUDGE REDMOND LEAVE OUR KIDS ALONE!!!!!

It's not just the judge though, it's also the corrupt police department who hate the citizens of Eastpointe along with our now famous judge. From tickets for jay-walking, to expired dog licenses to you name what, of course she's one of the highest paid judges in the area.

I have appeared before her on two misdemeanor counts, I was supposed to be able to enter a plea, I never did get to, she asked me what happened, then found me guilty and fined me the exact same amount she fined the person before me for the same charges. She spouts about weighing each case individually. I had a ligit reason for what happened, she didn't want to hear it.

She refers to media-hysteria. She's the one that is hysterical. She's been out of control since she took the bench. And if she had the courtroom laughing at this girl then maybe it was she that was in contempt of court.

I would like to express how appalled and disgusted I am over the behavior and decisions of District Court Judge Norene Redmond. I am also greatly concerned that very limited options and possibilities are available to the general public do something about such an atrocity. Something should and needs to be done.

How can a single person ( Judge Norene Redmond ) be so blatantly in violation of common sense and a sense of just that she still resides on a bench seemingly untouchable. A person ( Judge Norene Redmond ) who touches a many lives in a critical and crucial manner (for better or for worse) on a daily, weekly, monthly and yearly basis should not be allowed exemption of their indiscretions and injudiciousness. Lets face it, righteousness is unattainable, but someone who ( Judge Norene Redmond ) adheres to that moral responsibility needs to be readily accessible when it is subject of suspicion.

I am also extremely concerned about something else that should be brought to light. I had read that back in May of this year, Judge Norene Redmond was brought under scrutiny for having her dogs ( among other pets ) attend to the distrect court on a regular basis. Councilman Bill Sweeney, City Manager Wayne O'Neal, city officials and city building authorities had requested that she refrain from having her pets attend her to the court. Judge Norene Redmond ignored the order to remove her pets until the State Supreme Court became involved ordering her to cease and desist. As far as I am concered, any judge who deliberately ignores an order from people who have the authority to do so is an incompetent judge who should not be in any kind of position of judgement of moral responsibility or power.

Sincerely,
A concerned citizen

And on a side note: Im glad Jayme B. called out Judge Norene and made the "your a joke" comment. Im sorry Jayme had to face Judge Norenes consequence, but its absolutley vital you speek your mind when you know you are being wronged. Good job Jayme!

although this isn't about the city of Eastpointe it's more about Judge Redmond....perhaps you're right we should all boycott the entire city until they all stand up and take this looney toon off the bench!! People tend to take action when you hit them in the pocket book.

Watch the City Council meeting from 2 weeks ago and watch the meeting tonight. I am upset of seeing unjust sentences from neighborhood people and like stating before... I went to court on my neighbor's behalf about 2 months ago, My neighbor received over $500 in fines from a small patch of grass that was 6 1/2" tall next to the gas meter. He had to Lawyer Up because the building inspector "BOB" recommended 30 days in JAIL to judge Redmond. I went on his behalf because he borrows My lawn mower every 7-10 days and his son cuts his lawn (He's 10 yrs old and cuts my lawn too). Because his son missed a patch of grass? First violation? Because "BOB" and him had words about the threat of a ticket over a small patch of grass, is worth 30 days? Why did my neighbor have to seek council? Why was he facing 30 days?(Good thing he sought council). Being former military that is when I noticed this flag. THEN, All this media!!! Knowing what this flag means + unfair sentences = IMMEDIEATE REMOVAL!!! Judges are sworn to protect the constitution, and for fair trials. This is a direct violation of the oath and a Direct Violation of the constitution...

I respectfully withdraw from my fight... I will not win because of the "Law Definitions" of gold fringe are not yet recognized.
All information that I have wrote in this and other forums are correct and true to nature and when combined together makes this an important issue. This has been looked into (Not Thoroughly!!) by the Flag Research Center. I am not going to waste my time fighting, while losing to a definition. Be aware that what I have wrote in the past IS TRUE and needs to be noticed.

Recently, I have received several inquiries privately regarding the symbolism of the fringe displayed on indoor U.S. Flags, especially in courtrooms. I received the following data sheet from the Flag Research Center regarding this question and I quote it here in its entirety:
FRINGE ON THE UNITED STATES FLAG?
For many years rumors have been spread through the United States concerning the origin and meaning of the gold fringe which frequently decorates the Stars and Stripes. It has been claimed that such fringe is without proper authorization; that it is symbolic of the end of the gold standard as the basis for United States currency; or that it indicates the substitution of admiralty courts and martial law for common law courts and procedures, as part of a conspiracy supposedly instigated by Communists, Jews, Masons, liberals, feminists, homosexuals, or other "un-American" groups.
The Flag Research Center has not conducted a thorough investigation of all the claims being made about fringe, many of which are spread by radio talk programs, cassette tapes, lectures and other non-written forms. Nevertheless its unique resources allow the Center to state the following with certainty:
Available evidence seems to suggest that the claims made about fringe on the United States flag are intended to promote the political ends -- including elimination of income taxes, re-establishment of the gold standard, and denial of legal rights to women, non-Christians, and non-Caucasians -- of those who spread those rumors.
From the standpoint of history and law, fringe on a flag has no symbolism. While each individual is free to interpret the meaning of fringe, it has no inherent or established universal symbolism.
While fringe is frequently used on military flags and in formal settings (parades, public meetings, offices of government officials, courts, inaugurations, dedication ceremonies, etc.), it is also widely used in the private sector. Examples of private usage of fringe on flags in the United States extend back for 200 years.
Fringe is and always has been a purely decorative addition -- an optional enhancement of the beauty of a flag, added on a discretionary basis when the flag is purchased. In the private sector and for non-military government uses, use of fringe is like the choice of polyester or nylon over cotton or wool for the flag itself -- simply a matter of enhancing the appearance of the flag.
Title Four of the "United States Code" which defines the Stars and Stripes neither prescribes nor proscribes the use of cords and tassels, heading, sleeve, fringe, and other accessories to the flag. It is universally recognized that the symbolic aspect of the flag is inherent in its colors and symbols, not in the physical characteristics of the flag or the things (like fringe) added to it when it is displayed.
Admiralty courts deal only with maritime contracts, collisions at sea, and similar naval questions, not with normal civil and criminal cases. There is no symbol in the United States which indicates an admiralty court. While international treaties require that ships display the national flag, maritime flags never have fringe.
Martial law is not mentioned in the United States constitution nor has martial law ever been proclaimed in the United States. The use or non-use of fringe on a United States flag in a court has nothing to do with the jurisdiction of the court or with martial law.

I don't have much good to say about the state of Michigan and Eastpointe, Mi. Not because of The law enforcement because I think they do a good job. It's the people. I have never in my life met some of the most rudest people as in Eastpointe. I lived in Detroit and I lived in Warren and Eastpointe has the most rudest people. Kids disrespectable. It's unbelieveable.
