poor kid, lost three of his freinds and has to live with that guilt. unfortunately the law is the law, he should pay for it

He's going to pay for it the rest of his life knowing he was part of killing his best friends. Let him do community service. Having him serve time in jail won't bring those boys back.

No, but it will keep him off the roads. Use your head.

So quick to be the judge and jury. Not a single person driving is without fault. There is not one of us that has not done something behind the wheel that we should not have. We are all guilty of speeding from time to time, we have all passed someone is a less than safe manner, although I have never driven after I had a drink, unfortunately many others have. It is by the grace of God that the tragedy that happened that day did not happen to us. Rob in Utica that "uses his head", remember today that young man, tomorrow it could be you, your child, your grandchild, me or one of my boys. None Of Us Is Perfect!!!! We Are All Just Very Lucky. I pray for him and his three friends, and hope that none of us has to feel the pain that he does.

So what's your point. It wasn't me, it wasn't you, and that's why we aren't in jail. As fair as this murdering kid goes,I'm happy he's in jail. I don't want him on my roads. Period.

Yes, it'll keep him off the road and then what? Use your head Rob, the kids already paying for his mistake every day, for the rest of his life. That's enough. He shouldn't be locked up, that's not going to do anyone any good.

Bull shit. Not doing anyone good? How about doing me and the thousands of others who could cross paths with him on the road good? How about the tons of kids who helplessly ride in school buses good? He should be paying and that doesn't make me feel bad for him for one second.

You say then what? Then no one else DIES because of him. That's real.

Rob in Utica, Farmington whichever, so full of hate. It must be sad to be you. Do you even read the stories before you inject your hateful comments? The statements that you made make me believe that you don't know the first thing about the case. Lets leave the case to the professionals. Reading bits and pieces in the papers does not an expert make. No one cares about empty opinions.

It's actually pretty awesome to be me. I simply have less tolerance for losers and excuse makers. If you don't, that's your business. I'm sure all of your life expectations are far below the bar that mine are.

Hey Dude How high can your BAR be? You sit on a computer and send comments and re-comments to stories in the newspapers. People comment and move on with their lives. People that spend this much time obsessing have No Friends and Not much of a life. Like the other people commenting said you don't know anything except what you read. And we all know that may not be the full story.

Hey Rob, people hate you more than the kid you want to send up the river.

Yeah, yeah. You support the dumb ass murdering kid and I want him off the roads. I got it. The only difference is I'll get what I want and you won't.

Unless you are living the horror we are now, you have no right to say he should not spend time in jail. He broke the law. End of story. I do feel compassion for him and what he has to live with but the law is the law.

I know one of the families involved in this case, I was at one of the boys funeral....I am saddened by this all the way around. The kid who survived will be living with this the rest of his life, and I am certain the kids riding with him were not objecting to his behavior....being a teenager myself once, i remember going along for the ride and feeling we were invincible..That being said, an accident occurred. I think the other guy being charged was just as much to blame for the accident since he seemed to be acting out in a road rage against the teenagers. I think that a crime deserves a punishment....yes some restricted driving..ABSOLUTELY...communit y service.....ABSOLUTELY...jail time??? not the answer. And I am not being ignorant or leinient to this boy, I just know that he could be out there encouraged to do greater things with his life that was spared....talking to teenagers about what he did and how to avoid this happening to them...that should be his sentence...that is just my opinion. I know one of the families of the boy that died, as i stated, and they do not want revenge, they want their son back..it wont happen, they also do not want anymore lives ruined.

Jenny get a grip on reality. This kid deserves nothing but a cold hard jail cell. If he wants to teach other kids not to do what he did he can write a book about it. He'll have plenty of time.

Hey Rob..are you involved in this in anyway?? Do you know any of the families involved???? Are you just spouting off at the mouth? Cuz that is what it seems...Obviously you do not know much about the criminal justice system and what happens...I work within the court system...I know what this shit does and does not do to families, victims and the "criminals"...Get a clue on how things really work, don't assume you know the right way to handle things as an outsider...because unless you are involved in this case in anyway YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT!

To whoever thinks he should get community service, would you also feel that way if one of your loved ones was killed by the recklessness of this kid?

I highly doubt it.

Knowing how the criminal justice system works myself, there is no way this kid isn't going to jail. Once the press gets this heavily involved in reporting on this story there is no way the judge or the prosecutor will allow him to serve only community service. If they did there would be howls of outrage from the communities they serve.

He's going away for a while.

That's the way it is.

i loved all of those boys with my whole heart, and the 3 are gone, and one is left. james spent months and months fighting for his life after the car accident, and then after that has to deal with his best friends, more like brothers dying, and hes trying to get over it but now this? i dont know. i know the laws the law but really? he should just have community service or something and get on with our lives. and to that "rob" guy:fuck you. your not even unvolved with this in anyway possible. your just some jerk that goes around talking shit like he has nothing better to do right? go get a life. me and just about all these people commenting this knew those boys, and loved them, and knowing there gone makes us hurt so bad inside; you dont even know what im going threw, and many others are too. so just shut up and stop posting comments on here, it makes you look like you have no life.
