I have heard a story around town and am wondering if it is true. I was told that Back in the 1990's there was a boy that lived in Louisburg. He was dating white girls and that was frowned upon. Apparently he committed suicide and even left a note. However the story goes he couldn't read or write. They say ge was hanged in louisburg by green thumb. Im not sure if that is a street name or an area. Does anyone remember that happening? I kinda k ike teue crime stuff and am researching the area. Any help would be appreciated. I've looked online and can't find anything. Just wanna j now if someone is pulling my leg.

Well either someone is pulling your leg or you should be looking at the 1890 time period.

Initially I thought someone was too. But I have been told his name was timmy? And a lot of people around here know about it but no one seems to know his last name. I believe it happened and it wasn't too long ago. I was just curious. I get bored down here and I like to look up old crimes. I wasn't born here tho. So Idk if people are joking or serious. But I get the feeling it really did happen. Some people say he was related to the mccoy family. But idk if he was or not.

Didn't happen in the 1990's. Since this was over a guy dating white girls the guy would have been black. No one was hanged in Louisburg during the 1990's, maybe 1890s.

Green Thumb is a trailer park area back behind the welding shop on 65. I can't quite recall the name of the road the wraps around back there but there's the "green-thumb" part of your question answered.

OK re is the story I heard. I am from macks creek. I came down here in 1993. I was at the branch store. 2 old men were talking about a black man that was 19. Here is from California. He was talking to the Amish girl. The kid was drugged behind a truck. And he was taking to a tree and hung him. I was pissed off when I heard that. So I told them that was wrong. The kkk was still down here in this area at that time. I always thought the kkk did it. And went home and told my aunt. She swore that I made the KKK mad and they would burn a cross in the yard. But no one wants to talk the KKK was down here. They still could be. The 2 old men are dead now. But several people in macks creek heard the same story. The KKK did have there singing cross circles ceremony here in macks creek.

Thank u! See that's about the time it happened. I didn't hear the part about the amish girl but I heard he was found hanging and it was ruled a suicide. I'm just curious. When I moved to this town years ago I was told that story. I almost took it as a warning since I was single that I needed to be careful who I dated. Even tho I wasn't dating anyone. Especially since everyone here seems to be related already. Thanks for sharing. That does shed some more light on it.

I lived in green thumb. He was hung with hands between him. He was a young man and Dallas county sheriff was in charge. To this date they can not find out what happen. I knew his family and no one would think this could happen. What I think funny how did sheriff office rule sucide when hands tried behide him

Do yoy remember the young man's name? And thank you...I knew people were telling me the truth because I had heard it from so many different people. The only reason I wanted to know his name is I wanted to look up old newspaper articles on it.

And could be that someone is confusing something that happened in Louisburg, KS with Louisburg, Mo. I hear that happening around here all the time.

It's true as hell that happened in the late nineties and yes he did have his hands tied to the side and at the very end of a tiny little buddy Brad said he could have never walked out on and hung himself and is well-known there are only three or four black people in Urbana and is well-known to everybody that you do not mingle with the white girls and white girls don't mean with the black boys there's a reason why there are only a few black people in Urbana
