They find two bodies of two young people dead side by side and they don't consider the death suspicious?? Really!? Maybe there was carbon monoxide being let off from a furnace, u think?? Two dear friends of mine died in the fire on Main St. many years ago due to the negligence from the property owner. Think this is the case again?? Sound like a wrongful death suit to me. Later

The girl who died, lived next door to us while she was growing up, and she is a very sweet girl. Her name was Bridget.

I knew the 2 that died and there were no appliances that would have done that here, everything is run by electricity.

I want to say I'm sorry for your loss of your friends many years ago. I have been trying to find anything pertaining to that fire on the web without any luck. I'm not sure of the time frame of when that it happened I guess, I haven't been able to find out the year or month in which it happened. If it wouldn't be too painful for you could you please fill me in on this, maybe a little at least. I don't want to cause you any grief but if its not too much I would really like to know.

I just heard about that yesterday. Thats horribol but it just surprises me that it was on the island. I was serving a the govener's honor gaurd with boy scouts an that was when we were up there. Also, is there anything about a ship crashing or anything because really late at night, Friday night at like 10:30 we saw a helicopter flying around the water?

I am truly SORRY for the family of these two young people. I couldn't even think how they feel! As for the police, just look into more case's of death's in the area or MISSING PERSON'S cases and you will see they never suspect FOUL PLAY!! Nobody wants their town to look bad with a double murder, I understand that, but for the families for these people that are either Missing or have passed away far to soon THAT'S NOT GOOD ENOUGH, WE WANT SOME ANSWER'S!!! I hope you all get the answer's that you need and deserve!! We have a Missing Person from McMillan and we have a topix site also, I just hope that you do not get the hateful, heartless, evil replies that we have gotten... OUR DEEPEST SYMPATHY TO THOSE WHO LOVE THESE VICTIMS OF THE SYSTEM, OUR PRAYERS ARE WITH YOU THE FAMILY OF MISSING MAN DERRICK HENAGAN!! MAY GOD BE WITH YOU RIGHT NOW IN YOUR TIME OF NEED...

It is time for the property owners and business owners to be resposible for the conditions that their workers live in. I am sure many of the younger workers would have shocked parents if they had any idea.
I asked one of the larger business owner why he hid the fact the drugs are so easy to get there. He laughed and said "I'm not going to bite the hand that feeds me. Do you think most of this kids would work here if it wasn't for the underage drinking and the easy supply of drugg?" I once asked a Russian girl who was leaving the Island if she would ever come back to America. She had been one of the most popular girls on the island. Her answer was "Are you serious? They get foreign workers her and work you 7 days a week, 15 hours a day and yell at you all the time. At home we would call this slavery. After they get you her, there is no way to get home and the men that bring you here seem to think you came as a sex slave"
I hope that they are not allowed to brush this under the carpet.

Carol- You are 100% correct. I hope this is a wake up call for a lot of people. The island is a lovely place for tourists but the conditions for many workers are really miserable and often times dangerous. The foreign workers are often exposed to the worst of it.

This story should be told.

Appears that the two young people had an overdose of drugs, not homicide and obviously not foul play. At least the police wait for information before releasing anything. As you know rumors hurt. Wait for the facts. Besides your tragic case what other acts of foul play in the area are actually being misreported ?

I am an Islander and the living conditions in most "employee housing" should be condemned. To add insult to injury, Employees are charged rent while staying in their housing units. Not all are as bad as the LaSalle building where Steve Kinney and Michelle Krizan died.
