We spent 20 hours on a photo shoot and 6 hours on a presentation from this company. It is a fake, they then said " we would have to pay them $5900.00 to get our 5 Year old Grand daughter started". Please spread the word. This is something these folks did 40 years ago. If your child has a 1st nature gift, you should not have to pay money. Nor would I want someone to imprint her incorrectly, and a lot of companies take that 1 st nature drive out of children. Let everyone know it is a scam. Thanks

I've got a better idea, why not let the kid just be a kid.

My son saw a commercial on the Disney channel to be on Hanna Montana and other childrens shows. It gave a phone number to call. When I called there was a very nice young man who scheduled us for an open call in Tampa, FL. He said the Agency was Pacific Modeling and Acting so I assume it is a childrens Talent Agency. The agent's name is Brandie Gold. I don't know if I should waste my time taking my 8 year old to this. If anyone has information about this agent or agency, please let me know! kimmygingrich@aol.com

Hi Kim,
I heard a radio ad two days ago, so I called. They set up an audition for my daughter for Sunday at the Tampa Convention Center at 2 p.m. Today I call to get the name of the agent and they tell me Brandie Gold and that she is with Pacific Modeling and Acting. I just looked up the website for this so called agency and found out it is a school. Not sure where it is located. But, I think it is a scam and will not be attending the audition. My daughter is 7 and I don't think I am going to waste my time.

my daughter went to the audition on sunday. they called us back today. not sure how many others they called. they said it would be no more than 200 people. i don't know what to think. yes its a school.. the money is for your portfolio, training and to be able to meet with agents. I see alot of pros and cons about this I am not sure what to do. My daughter was interviewed by the model.. he kept telling us how beatiful my daughter was. I am not sure if its worth forking out all this money.. what are her chances of success here?

What are your daughter's chances of becoming a successful model or actress? Slim to none.

What are your chances of losing a truckload of money? Extremely high.

I call BS. Scam.

I lived in LA for years and took acting class with a few Seinfeld actors for 30 bucks a class. They want to train you better than that for a few thousand? Yeah ok.
Google Kathy Eisner.. the so called expert who work with so many models and actors... she does not even come up once.
SCAM. stay far away. yes this is in Tampa.

Does anyone know if they rejected any of the people who interviewed? You're all there on Sunday and then they split you up into 3 groups calling some back on Mon, Tues or Wed..
You have to give money immediatley and not have time to review the contract? Come on ! No scholarships for the kids they really want? You have to be a moron to think it is legit..

If everyone took your advise, we would have no winners. No risk, no reward. Winners take a risk and invest in themselves

Your daughter is worth investing in. Believe in your daughter and take the chance and never quit. Losers quit.

I AM home you dip s**t.
As for wasting someone's time...ANYBODY that is reading or posting here is wasting their time.
The plain truth is that probably less than ONE PERCENT of the children who "audition" for these things ever becomes any kind of "star" or even makes enough money to cover the costs involved.
Why don't YOU, "market guru", fess up and admit that you are nothing more than a shill for these phony talent agencies.

"So-called agency?" Where exactly did you hear this was an agency?

IT IS A SCAM!!!
I lost thousands of dollars to Pacific Modeling and Acting Academy.
Whatever you do, DO NOT work with this company. In fact, if anyone has any information on Pacific auditions in their town, report it to the police.

Daniella -

I am one of the teachers here in Albuquerque who was hired by this 'company'. It is very much a scam, and I am deeply hurt for parents of the children who were taken in. I have been sending a lengthy description of events and notification about this 'company' out to all the local media and to our elected officials and anyone else I could think of to try to get some attention paid to this matter and have some sort of legal investigation started.

The governor's office advised me that parents should file reports with the Attorney General's office and the Better Business Bureau - that's all they can do at their level, but at least I've made sure they know what is going on, since the film industry being here in town will attract more duplicitous businesses who will try to take advantage of parents in exactly this way.

I believe that action needs to be taken by the parents, in the form of a class action law suit or something along those lines, and the only way this can happen is if the parents can get together - hence my attempt to get the media involved. The teachers like myself don't have any way of getting in touch with all of you - the people in charge of this operation were clever enough to make sure that we didn't have any way to reach you once they skipped town.

Because it looks like I can't post contact information here, I am going to suggest that you contact KOAT Channel 7 in Albuquerque and let them know who you are and what has happened, and the Albuquerque Journal as well, as they are the two news agencies that have so far expressed interest in doing stories on all this.

Research on my part has indicated that EXACTLY what happened here is also going on in other states, and it will only be by getting this into the public view that it can be stopped. Failing that, I'm hoping that at least the parents here in Albuquerque have a chance to try to get back what they lost.

Also, I don't know why this thing posted my remark as coming from Denver - maybe something to do with my interest host provider. I am here in Albuquerque.

So since we have all fallen victim to the same crude joke on our children, and in so many differnt states, surely there is something we can do? CLass action suit? Gah I don't know but I'm really P---d. The money is one thing but the lesson and the hurt to children is awful.

Thanks for all the comments! They are now "blowing" into Allentown Pennsylvania to recruit. My daughter saw this ad on Nickelodeon TV and wanted me to call. I kind of figured something was amiss just by the young man I spoke to. Anytime someone who is supposed to be working for a professional agency is to busy chewing food in my ear to speak properly it tells me something!! Anyway, I'm very surprised that these TV stations aren't more aware of this scam and refuse to allow them to advertise on their station.

Daily Horoscope for December 20

Scorpio

There are problems concerning money today, especially if someone thinks they aren't getting their fair share of it. Mars turns retrograde in your house of public matters, so issues from the pat will need to be dealt with in weeks to come. Sort things out quickly, before they become even more fraught.
