When each house has 40+ acres to go with it, it might make sense to let your dog run loose. But when we have a population density limited only by the occasional 5 acre minimum limit, it doesn't make sense to let dogs run any more.

4 times out of 5, when I see a young dog running loose on carpenter road, the next time I see that dog, it will be dead in the ditch.

Also, some mis-guided city folk buy their kids puppies. When the puppy isn't cute any more or is too much trouble, they seem to think a "Good solution" is to let it loose on Carpenter Road. The 1 in 5 that survive are hard to tell apart from the 1 in 5 survivors that local folks let run loose.

For the sake of the dog, please confine your dog! I have no desire to run over it or see someone else hit it. If you have a dog that isn't a puppy any more and is no longer wanted, please take it to an animal shelter! It's odds of surviving to old age will be much better there.

If you can't successfully confine the dog, at least have a phone number on the collar so that he can find his way back home..... dead or alive.

Daily Horoscope for January 6

Sagittarius

There's work to be done. Even though it might seem overwhelming, there's a lot to be gained from doing Level One, or routine physical tasks. When your body is preoccupied and very little mental input is required, your mind is free to roam. Do one thing at a time, and you're assured of complete success in all your projects and undertakings today. Your health is not as good as it could be, at the moment. Consider a cleansing diet.
