i live in fayetteville area and just recently i have witnessed people being pulled over at the stoplights in fayetteville soon as you pass the "get em down bridge" as locals call it. The green bridge that over passes rt. 16. They have one police man standing in uniform on top of the bridge clocking drivers speeds and then radioing it to the other one. the police officer in the cruiser is either parked at the old "odell" homestead OR at the bottom of the hill going towards balls exxon. I thought the one officer was a kid just hanging out with the other kids on bikes but i was wrong. Speeding is illegal but i think it is so lazy to have one do all the work for you while the other just waits in a car for you to drive to them and they motion you to pull over. Soon after they let the people go then they fly up the road themselves speeding way over 55. I know because i can see from my windows. I guess they have to start paying for the new little general the town is building huh? I Just wanted to warn everyone to WATCH YOUR SPEED THRU THIS INTERSECTION!!!

Saw them there yesterday too, wondered what they were up to. It was Kinzer at the top but didn't see the radar gun.

whatever happened to our local government here to work for the people,not against......the mayor controls the city police!!!!!a lot of these local city police look like they graduated high school this year.

i think it is lazy. i watched for a while yesterday. i thought to myself "how lazy is this" he would stand in the road and wave them into the vacant piece of land. Nothing else better to do i guess. maybe they should pay lot rent on the piece of property they are using to right up citations. i totally agree with mr ed's comments.

The "speed trap" slows cars down from 55 to 40 and then to 25mph right before the Rt19 intersection. If there wasn't a gradual slow-down, people might not get stopped in time and slide out in front of a semi. Think of it instead as a safety trap.
|
||||
no sorry bout ur misinformation<<<< they are lookin for 52 in a 50,43 in a 40,,,29 in a 25,,,now if you gotta watch ur speedometer so close how can you watch the damn road.!!!!besides,if you have a city or state tag on your car you can go fast as you wanna!!!!!!!they dont pass out warning tickets anymore,its all about your money. |
||||
silly is right!!!! very smart!! they are getting ridiculous. my cousin got pulled over in the same area. he hadnt even got to the 25mph sign it was still 40 and they gave him a ticket for doing 41 in a 25. dont you think it should have been a ticket for 41 in a 40? then they cater to anyone related to people working at the courthouses. go figure once again. |

I recently had to deal with the sheriff's dept in fayetteville....hell getting anyone to answer the phones during non-business hours.......even the emergency number! and then even a couple times on that line when it was answered, it was picked up "hello...please hold".....who has time to hold on the "emergency line" and why are we asked (or told) to??
what is that about? |

heres another story to show you . my cousin was in from texas the 4th of july. she was clocked doing 64 in a 50. she gave the cop a sob story of how she was in for a funeral (which was a lie) and how her husband was deployed in iraq and she was just so upset (truth). she flirted and got her way which is wrong, discriminatory and she should have been fined for going way over the 50mph. i dont agree with her getting off one bit. if this were me because i am a guy, i would be ticketed.
|

just how long do a audit take???if it were the average joe we would have known all about it within a week!!as for daniels,that was last fall when i was not followin too close.the officer slammed on his brake ,shot left an backed out across both lanes,BOTH LANES!!!!!looked at me as i was tryin to get controlthen pulled off(no flashin lites,nothin)i watched in my rearview as he stopped that car who probably was doin 60 ,in a 55...i think too that court cost money should be given to food banks an help with peoples utility bills....then it would truly be |

1 I have a little info within myself and generally if you call the sheriffs office after hours it's true they have no evening secretary but generally there's no answer cause they don't want to answer those calls. You can barely get one to leave that vicinity to take a call anywhere in the evening. I can assure you had I slammed my breaks in fron of an officer and made a turn and he nearly hit me he would've made something out of it. It's all hypocrisy anyways god forbid we go a few miles over the limit but they can go 10 or more above no matter where they are traveling. I understand if its an emergency or their attending a call but I can't tell you the number of times I've been passed by them driving like a bat out of hell to get to walmart or rio to congregate with one another. Theres a set of standards for these officers and another set for us. You want people to follow the speed limit it should start from within with our officers. |
