Did you see our choices for interim Chief?
1. Gary Smith who was fired from THREE of his last four agencies, BCSO, ACTSD, LCPD (yes he was fired from LCPD once before, ok he resigned in lue of termination). Gary is also famous at Bexar County.He was having wife problems (cheating on his ex wife with his cureent wife) so he shot himself while on duty and claimed a criminal shot him. Of course BCSO found out the truth and fired him for it. He appealed, and lost. Then he got hired by a friend and eventually that friend got him a Chiefs job at a little hole in the wall school. What happened? Gary ran it into the ground, stole money and equipment and got fired. Actually he was so bad the school fired every cop there and started over with new people.
2. Guy Finney He has never had a real police job. He has been a reserve officer for about 18 years. His full time job?? Security officer at Taco Cabana.
We sure do have alot of good choices don't we. I bet the city has not even bother to call around and check with previous employers.

Not to mention he lives by stone oak. It's about 45 miles each way to and from his house. How is he ever going to respond to a call and how much gas is the city going to spend on his commute?
It's sad that La Coste is becoming the dumping ground for officers that cannot get a job in San Antonio.
From what I read all of the good officers have resigned already. I think we have 6 officers now and no patrols... if there not working patrol here what good are they to the city? Seems like nothing more than a liability.
We really need someone from the area. Look, we hired George from San Antonio and he can't even get to work on time. He does not show up till 8:20 or 8:30 every day. Sad, but George could not get a job anywhere else either.... Poor La Coste, we take every one elses rejects.

Yeah I agree. Gary Smith is an absolute awful choice. I think they should have tried to keep there current Chief. I did hear that Gary Smith shot himself and filed false reports. He was trying to get insurance money. That is proof of his intelligence. Oh well. He will fit well into the LaCoste drama. He said in one report that he took the weed from the school district for his catract. That his Doctor told him no so he just took some evidence. He said " It was only a nickle bag" What an idiot.

He was also reprimanded for looking at kiddie porn on the school district laptop. He said he was doing an undercover operation. Come on and printing it on a color printer for evidence to???? If we have Gary as Chief we will also probably have the FBI seizing our city computers. Then what will city employees do all day?

Who ever appoints Gary Smith as the Chief of Police,needs shoot them self's,just like he did in the Bexar County Sheriff's Office,he pulled that stunt,to get attention from his ex wife caught him cheating,so he shot him self,and he told SAPD that he got shot by a gang-banger. SAPD and BCSO found out it was self-inflicted.He got fired form the BCSO.All for a piece of ass,imagine what he will do for a Chief's job.
If he get appointed Chief,that will be an exclusive for WOAI,KSAT,KENS,KABB,and for the public.Gary's manhood is only 3Inches.

Garry was fired by the previous Chief Alfaro. This should make life fun around town. From what I understand all of Medina County SO knows he is a joke. Another one of those guys who has never been a patrol officer. Worked as a reserve for the last 6 years and before that was a jailer till he shot himself.
