Judge's Ex-lover Won't Sue Over Her Firing
By Debbie Salamone Wickham of The Sentinel Staff

A former court worker will receive $65,000 to settle her claim that Orlando's former chief judge provoked her firing after their love affair ended. The settlement with Janis Williamson ends the scandal that embarrassed Judge Belvin Perry.

Perry's former lover, later fired from her courthouse job, cost taxpayers $65,000 in a settlement last year. And disrepute heaped upon the judiciary as a result of the incident is immeasurable
In exchange for the money, Williamson will not sue Perry or the court system.

Perry's problems date back to 1990, when he began an affair with worker Janis Williamson. He says the affair lasted two years and ended before he became chief judge in charge of the court system in Orange and Osceola counties. But she maintains the affair lasted well into his term as chief judge, when he had the ability to hire and fire.

In 1997, Williamson was fired and the federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission later found she could have been a victim of discrimination. But Perry claimed Williamson had been a troublesome and insubordinate worker who narrowly escaped being fired by another chief judge years earlier.

Men like this are common. Just perfect - until they get caught. Then they are exposed as just another set of D&B's. Dirtbag!

Who would even want to touch this diseased walrus?

"But Perry claimed Williamson had been a troublesome and insubordinate worker who narrowly escaped being fired by another chief judge years earlier." But that didn't stop this genius from breakin off a piece of this pus for years! Stoopid.

Thank you for your continual fixation on Judge Perry's sex life. It serves what purpose? As the article you posted points out, she was not working for Judge Perry when she was fired and Judge Perry didn't fire her. The case settled out of court, so there are many facts unknown. Judge Perry was wrong for ever being involved with her personally, but he has accepted responsibility for that.

Thank you. I wholeheartedly agree. Unlike a lot of people, he was honest about his mistakes, stepped down from his position, and worked to regain respect profesionally and personally. And he's earned that.

Oh, now somebody is in your "business?" I can't help it that you're checking out another man's physique, and when asked about that you just don't know how to respond. But you answered the question nonetheless.

I'm not the gay one....

If you're against affirmative action, then state why. However, that statement alone shows you know nothing about Judge Perry's history.

Perry seems perfectly capable. I will say , however, that his pronunciation of certain words ("specifically" as "pacificly" comes to mind) drives me crazy. But hey, the last president used to talk about "nucular" energy so who cares right?

I'm absolutely LOVING his control in the courtroom - verbal [email protected]$%# slaps for defense (usually) and prosecution (occasionally).

Holy anger issues Batman...chill dude.

This is a forum, therefor, when you post an opinion, people will reply to it, comment on it, deride it, or agree (or anything in between really).

Did you mean to post the same response each time? Or is it some kind of crazy server mix up?(Actually curious...thanks)
