Hired this contractor to reroof as an Owens Corning Preferred Roofer in order to obtain the Owens-Corning Preferred Protection Warranty. He failed to notify me of a date to start and was 3/4 finished with the job when I found out. He subcontracted the job to a company located 60 miles from here of non English speaking people except the foreman. When I arrived, there was no one there from his company. The sticky underlayment was not done properly.
He tore down perfectly good gutters and caused other minor damage. We mutually agreed to settle the cost by each paying half of gutter replacement. He had to submit certain papers, which he did and I paid him less the $500. The papers he submitted were false, particularly the warranty information. In short, he talks and writes a good game, but you can not trust his word at all. He lied about who did the work, he lied that he would notify me of the starting date, he lied about the warranty papers he submitted, he lied that he would personally be there and I am out 13500 dollars with no warranty. And the Better Business still has him rated A+. BEWARE.

This customer wants a warranty she did not pay for. When we met the customer to collect payment for the contract she refused to let us take the pictures to go with the Wind Mitigation Form. She has claimed that we did it incorrectly, not that it was incomplete due to her own actions. She then withheld 100% of payment and began negotiating improvements to her property. Her warranty was cancelled for non-payment. She is well aware of this but continues to allege that she was given fraudulent paperwork. When she did pay us, it was for $500.00 less than she owed. She withheld money for items that were not in our contract/ scope of work to provide. In fact, the work she hired us to do required the removal of her gutters. She was informed of this a month prior to starting her job and did not ask us to quote/ include gutter replacement in our contract. After the job was completed and she was holding the entire payment, she demanded we replace them. She threatened to slander us in the public eye if our company did not buy her warranty and has created/ posted libelous fraudulent claims in many places.Unfortunately, many sites allow people to post anything they want regardless of whether it is true and do not require any documentation or proof of facts. The BBB offered her Arbitration in this matter, which is binding on both parties, and she refused. Her reviews are designed to damage our companys reputation.
This customer was notified of the day we intended to start her job, the front gate of her community called and notified her when we arrived. She was sent an email the afternoon of the first day and an email at 9:54am the morning of the second day. We were not ¾ done with her job as she states. The gutters were removed because she contracted us to do work that required their removal. She did not request we quote or include replacement. For all we knew, she planned to use her previous gutter company for replacement. We did not hire a subcontractor to replace her roof, the workers were employed by our company. We did NOT mutually agree to pay for half of her replacing the gutters. This was an ultimatum she came up with and then deducted $500.00 she owed us from her contract price. There were NO false papers, warranty or otherwise submitted to her. The warranty papers were valid and submitted to her BEFORE she withheld payment and demanded gutter replacement. We did not know at the time we purchased her warranty that she was not going to pay us. The warranty was cancelled after she withheld 100% of payment. While trying to destroy our livelihood, she does not find it important to be accurate. She actually paid us $13,600.00 towards her contract not $13,500.00 as she states. The owner came to her job bringing materials and overseeing the progress three of the four days we were on her project, as well as two crews, two foremen and a Supervisor. And, her son had a conversation with the owner while they were both on her roof. She chooses to ignore this fact. We have offered to re-apply for her warranty if she would just pay for it and she has refused. We still have an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau because our company does not do all of the things she alleges and she is the only complaint with them we have ever had. And unlike the sites she has chosen to use to damage our company and personal reputations, the BBB looks at both sides of the situation.
The extent this customer has gone in order to obtain a warranty that she did not pay for is appalling. We have tried to address her concerns and satisfy her since March, 2013. We have been in business over 20 years, provide quality products and services and always try to satisfy our customers. I found that working with this contractor and all his employees was very satisfactory. My expectations were met in every regard and I would recomend them and have on two occasions.
