If you have any planning skills at all you can just buy a whole bunch of alcohol on Saturday and still have enough to get drunk on Sunday and go throw up on the Church's front lawn.

It's ok to sell alcohol the other six days of the week, but it's not ok on Sunday. If it can't be done on Sunday, why it is ok the other six days of the week? Someone needs to sue the city of Maccelenny, and any other city that does not permit the sale of alcohol on Sunday. If you want to buy an adult beverage on Sunday, you should be able to in the land of the free.

I agree with you. It is no ones business but the people who live there. If they voted it in, they can always vote it out if the find it is not what they wanted.

People who must have alcohol seven days a week, will just have to plan ahead.

All those who think it is their right to sue for anything that does not agree with your opinion are selfish and self-serving.

I don't think it is the issue of people that need alcohol 7 days a week. But revenue goes outside the county instead of the local businesses receiving it. If it's so bad on Sunday...just ban it all 7 days and be done with it. Lots of States have totally dry counties, and the people just spend their money elsewhere. I would think as much as they have grown, the businesses would speak up.

Again another step closer to communism. If the people of MacClenny do not want to drink on Sundays because of religious then stay away from bars and other establishments. whether it's their community or not they do not have the right to instill their religious beliefs on people that my want to go to the bar. They do not have the right to go in to a privately own business and tell the owners what they can do on their property. Now if a bar owner decides close his bar on Sundays because of his religious beliefs then that is his right, not the surrounding communities.

"they do not have the right to instill their religious beliefs on people "
I guess the pilgrams should have just stayed across the oceans. And the Indians would still own this land drinking their fire water. The USA was built on religion belief, and now will die on non-religon belief.

I am a Macclenny resident, and I think it is great that our City leaders still allow us to voice our opinions and vote on issue's like this. The article states that there were more 150 church members showed up to the hearing. Where were the business owners that wants alcohol sold on Sundays? Apparently we have more churches than business. I am proud of our community! and as far as the person from DEBARY... We have woke up and realized we don't want our community to end up like yours.

Thanks goes out to our County and City leaders!

how would it ? you have a taco bell and a woodys, however, i do not think YOUR little HUNTIN' VILLAGE should not be able to purchase any more land in surrounding areas, and keep worshipin' and fondling children.. and i assure NO REAL CENTERED AMERICAN aspires to be like your town or ANYBODY IN IT, why do think your children run away at 10 years of age? because they have met the education requirements..and if you can find it in your heart, stop wearing highwaters to church, tube socks and black patent-VINYL shoes do not mix, the fashion police would show up , but, the only thing on their garmin is a cracker barrel, near your cosmopolitan mining camp..

well, Apparently you don't know a thing about MY little Hunting Village, as you called it. We have a lot more than Taco bell and Woody's. We have a community that cares about people. And as far as running away at 10 years of age? or fondling children, where have you been? there hasn't been anything happening in our town that isn't happening in yours...and as far as communities wanting to be like us...your right...they don't want to be like us, instead they are moving into our community and being part of us. Check out the growth that is booming in our area..even some from your county is leaving coming to our area...why? because we still allow praying in our schools, we still have morals and standards, and our community believe in GOD, CHURCH, and People. Unlike you, we are proud of who we are, and really don't care what you have to say... you won't change anything...because people like you deserve to like in Debary...i have been there...it sucks!

sounds like to me that you have relatives that live there. Because you know more about "section 8", than the average person. however, i am one person, with 2 kids, whom do NOT live in "section 8" and neither one of my kids wear their pants hanging off of their ass. If the kids in our community go to school with there under garments showing, they will receive a tie strap and will be required to put that on or they go home. So, instead of you sitting on your fat ass playing on the computer, worrying about other communities, make sure you have your information right, and start doing something about your dried up, none religious, sexual predator county. and when you decide that you can't stay in your community anymore because of the and you want to find a better place to raise children, with morals, make sure you look Macclenny up, because that is the only county that you will find, that would even accept your no good ass and try to fix you.

I am sure the surrounding counties appreciate getting the tax revenue from Sunday sales. Way to go. You have now extended the drive for those who do want to purchase on Sunday and some that may have waited to get home to pop the cork may now do so while in route. By the time they get home they should really enhance the safety of your county roads.

You cannot legislate morality nor should you try.
