the lost puppy

A child found a puppy under her mother's car on a cold and rainy day. The puppy had a collar on but no tags to say where it belonged. The child brought the puppy into the house to get it warm because the puppy was cold wet and shivering so bad she felt sorry for it, she dried him off and got him warm. The parents of this child told her not to get attached to the puppy because they were going to try to find the owners. They put an ad in the local newspaper for a week put flyers up in the local vetrinarian's hospital and a few other places. They answered ads in the paper for 2 other dogs that were descided to look like this puppy they had found but the other people said it was not theirs. After taking care of the puppy for a the child became very fond of the puppy she taught him the rules of being house broken, how to walk on a leash and he snuggled with her every night when she went to bed. A month went by and her dad got a call from someone claiming the dog was theirs and they sent a child over to their house, it happened to be a neighbors dog that only lived 5 houses down and had seen the little girl walking this dog every day but never stopped and said "hey thats my dog". When the girl came to claim her dog the mother of the little girl that found the puppy told the little girl claiming that was their puppy to bring an adult over and she would give them the puppy, the mother wanted to know how they could not have put any signs up for a lost puppy, placed an ad in the paper for a lost puppy or how they could only live 5 houses away drive by their house every day see the puppy being walked and never once in this months time ask if that was their lost puppy. Not only that but these same people claiming this was their puppy had just had 3 other dogs picked up by animal control the day before they claimed this puppy because they let their dogs roam the neighbor hood as they seen fit causeing garbage to be scattered throughtout the neighborhood and dog fights. So the mother was only wanting to make sure that this puppy her daughter did everything right with was going to go back to a home where it would RALLY be cared for.
Two days later the girls go back to school where they both attend and this little girl that claimed the puppy spread a rumor around the school that the little girl that found the puppy had stolen it from them. Now this little girl has half the school calling her a theif and to top it all off this girl that claimed the puppy made it a personal note to get off at the little girl that found the puppy bus stop and beat her up for "stealing her puppy"
Now to me that is just wrong that a child that has so much animal love and only cared for a lost puppy the way any one of us would want their puppy(family member) treated to go through such cold and vicious treatment. Hope the parents and grandparents are really proud of that child that claimed the puppy.
My daughter will never look at a puppy the same way again :-(

That is just horrible how your little girl was treated. I feel so bad for her and yes your right I hope those parents and grandparts are proud of that child they are raising. To me it sounds like your raising your daughter to be a kind loving soul with losts of compassions for all of God's creatures. Give her a hug for me and tell her if my dog was ever lost I would want her to find him.
