Wow, seems like someone has a personal agenda against the boys coach. Do you attend practices? Alot of the discpline happens in practice. I am going to assume that you don't attend those. Also, it seems that you have a grudge against a player. Remember, these are kids, and they are going to make mistakes. The video in question is protected by free speech which is afforded by the 1st ammendment. The kid caught with tobacco falls under school administrators rules, not the bball coach. So, either get a life or leave others alone asshole.

ooh. Hit a nerve. First, yes I've witnessed practices and to say discipline occurs there. Well, I guess to each is own but we must have different definitions for the word discipline. 2. No, I have no issues with any of the kids. You are right when you say they are just kids and kids make mistakes. My point is, if the team were more disciplined they would they have more respect for their actions, others, and themselves. That falls on the coaching staff for not enforcing consequences. And if you were smart enough to comprehend the issue about tobacco use that I mentioned. You would have interpreted that I felt the Admin and coaching staff should have taken action.
Now I as a parent want to know that any adult hired to teach my children, hopefully are going to teach them right and wrong. If they break a rule, then they need to pay the consequence. They are not above following rules. That needs to be enforced by the adult in charge. You see, I'm saying it falls in the adults lap not the kids.
I know a lot of morons out there like to assess and assume they know how others are feeling and thinking. But guess what, what I wrote is what I meant. That is how I feel, no hidden agenda or feelings.
You know what assuming does? You use the word assume, and think, and seems like. Make sure your info is a little more concrete before u make yourself look like an uneducated idiot!:)

The former volleyball coach did a very good job, and she should be back as the coach. Coach Hart also does a great job.

There is discipline in both programs. Attack Coach Hart about the video, but there is nothing that can be done to the player according to the law. Disciplining the player for the video could result in legal action against the school. The player has been disciplined for his one unsportsmanlike technical foul.

The tobacco rules changed a few years ago. There are programs with discipline issues. The basketball program is not one of them. Maybe one should look where coaches know players take drugs before the game.

Whatchagottasaynow5, I have it figured out, You are one of the complainers that attack the other sports and coaches when something doesn't go your way or your childs way. I am alot more informed than you will know. So you are pissed about a girls program, then attack a boys program? Cry a little why don't ya.

Sorry to burst your bubble, I have no personal investment in any of the high school teams at this point. Keep trying! Lol

I totally agree with you that the volleyball coach did do a good job! My point with bringing that up was to show that the admin wants to punish her for discipline issues with her team. So how could that be when we have issues in other areas that do not put those certain coaching jobs in jeapordy?
My feelings, just like everyone else's stem from my own values and beliefs of how not only a program but student athletes need to be guided and expected to display themselves and their behaviors to others. Especially the young athletes that look up to them like celebrities. The coaching staff, need to be clear about what is expected of them and what will happen if they do not abide by the guidelines layed out for them.
Bottom line is, yes sports are about winning. That's what makes everyone love them. But there are bigger things to be taught and learned by participating in any sport and in any position. Teamwork, respect, confidence, reliance, dependability, punctuality, focus, training, trust, and so much more.

I'd like to know what the discipline issues were with the volleyball coach. I have heard a lot of issues with her, none of them related to discipline or lack of discipline at all.
