I have also had contact with this vet, she is the cruelest women I have ever have to speak to. There is some kind of underlying issues in her life because the women is clearly miserable. I would not trust me dog or cats with this vet!

This vet is amazing! I can't beleive that she calls herself a professional! She is very rude and I would not recommend her to anyone. No vet should be dropping F-Bombs at a customer, no one should treat another like that especially one who works in the service industry. You'd think that individuals like her would not even bother attending school for a profession that she clearly hates.

My wife and I, and several friends and relatives, have had a completely different experience with this DVM. We have not experienced anything remotely close to the rudeness noted by other commenters. Dr. Ostgaard provides in-house vet care, which is extremely valuable esp. in the case of cats who get stressed out by car rides, much less rides to the vet's office. She is very thorough and we have found she will work harder to find affordable treatment for pets. We had tried another Boulder area vet who also makes house calls, but Dr. Ostgaard was able to prescribe successful, affordable treatment for an issue with our dog that the other vet was either unable or unwilling to suggest.

I will say that Dr. Ostgaard is not the vet for the "traditional" pet owner, which is to say, the type who gets their pet spayed/neutered and the basic immunizations, but beyond that, "lets the pet go" should further, more complicated medical needs arise. I'm not talking about $5,000 orthopedic or cancer surgeries, as such things do indeed cause pet owners real dilemmas, but more like things like special diets or the pet-owner giving regular shots (say, insulin for a diabetic pet). I get the sense that Dr. Ostgaard believes pet ownership should go a little beyond providing the basics when the owners have the financial means to provide such care for their pets.
