Sneaky Anti-Gay-Marriage Campaign Reserves $1.5 Million in Ads to Reject R-74

There are 6 comments on the slog.thestranger.com story from Sep 17, 2012, titled Sneaky Anti-Gay-Marriage Campaign Reserves $1.5 Million in Ads to Reject R-74. In it, slog.thestranger.com reports that:

If you look at the state's financial records for the PAC opposing gay marriage this November, the campaign looks anemic. Preserve Marriage Washington has raised $581,000 and only about one-third that amount remains as cash on hand... hardly enough for a statewide ad blitz before November. That is to say—on paper—the campaign has created the appearance of being a small, local operation, run out of the Seattle suburb of Lynnwood by an activist named Joseph Backholm.

Is ANYONE truly surprised by this news? ANYONE? I'm not......and no matter how much money they have.....I still believe Washington will come out on the right side of this issue and possibly ruin the anti-gay's record at the ballot box!!!

But it's OK when queers use government money to propagandize our kids in the government schools normal people pay for?
Take your typical queer outrage and shove it.
The taxpayers are being forced to fund all the queer propagandists in the government schools and universities.

Now they finally notice a bubble.

A 4 year degree in queer crap doesn't equip a student with marketable skills.
Just another angry queer with a couple hundred grand in college debt that everyone laughs at.

The only thing that's really surprising about this story, is the spectacular fashion in which they've chosen not to pretend that these groups aren't one big anti-gay money laundry here. It's usually AFTER the election in question that we find out what they really have been up to, if even then. A $1.5 million ad buy with less than $200 thousand in the bank is going to require some 'splainin and a lot of prayers that Maggie and Bryan's NOM launderette can make good on their promises of "legitimate" financial support.

I think we have all fully expected this - a last-minute glut of funds to run their misleading, fear-mongering ads, just like in every other marriage campaign.

I just hope that Washington United for Marriage is prepared for the onslaught with compelling and forceful messages to the contrary. It's not like we don't know what their ads are going to say, and at this point in the game, there's no excuse for letting them get away with their misleading ads without appropriate replies.
