I soooo agree with you Mr. Fed up and if this was OZ and the house was going to fall on the wicked witch it would be Nichols. I hate living in a community with such political bullying and misuse of positions. Not to mention cheater cheater pumpkin eaters. I guess it will take people to think on thier own instead of voting for who they are told to vote for. Come on passing out a million dang papers telling people who to vote for city council, not to mention having to be stopped by the police from passing them out right across froom the polling station. I think the first step in turning this city around is getting rid of these council members who only support and protect their own views and way of thinking. Any opposition is not welcome. Living here I wonder if we still have a democracy or dictatorship! We voted Bryant in because we wanted a changed and they didn't care what we wanted, and only looked out for their interest. In closing I would like to say POO POO on you city council!

I grew up in Lynnview. Dad was even the major for several years. A job he was asked to take, he was too shy to get the job any other way. The town was started to avoid Louisville city taxes, and to provide a good place to bring up children. That is why festivals were had every year to obtain funds to build the community building. There was a strong commitment to youth. Therefore efforts were made to prevent undesirable businesses into the town.
The first mayor of Lynnview (I can not remember his name) was a real go getter. He was really the one who started the city. He also started the credit union at GE. Lynnview's beginning was a town with young married people all just starting out. People with similar interests and goals. I only have one friend still living in Lynnview. His family has been there since the beginning. He still references homes by their former owners. I am sure Lynnview is a more difficult place to live today. It is now a regular city with people of all age groups. Likewise politics is probably not as sterile as it once was. Best of luck to all of you living there today. Your neighborhood is full of pleasant memories from my childhood. |
