Uh, Better ask Cohasset about Mark the Shark.

Haddad never gives up. This guy has applied for town manager jobs all over New England. Mark, everyone knows what you are all about. You are a predator, snake, and a cheat! Groton should run from this guy...he will run up your taxes, prey on your female employees, and then leave you holding a bag load of lawsuits. Leopards don't change their spots. This dude is trouble. Just ask Cohasset, MA, Jamestown, RI, or Stratford, CT.

I am a resident of Groton and I did my homework on Haddad when I heard he was one of the finalist. I admit that I was concerned at first at what I was reading. Everything I read was rumors and people trying to attack the guy on a political agenda. Look at that fact before you post.
I came to the conclusion that the person that accused him in Cohassett was looking for money. She was later arrested for stealing from a children's charity. That says it all. The folks from Littleton have great things to say about him.
I hope the Selectmen see through the rumors and give the guy a chance.

Haddad got the Sarah Palin treatment in the press. Lots of false accusations and rumors in the papers. Once you try to discipline cops, you can kiss your career good-bye.

The guy can manage. Give him a chance.

Hey Uh Oh - get your facts straight. The woman who stole from a charity did that before Marky boy hired her. He acknowledged knowing about the theft, but chose to hire her any way. And even then, she was just one of four or five suits that Cohasset settled because of him. And btw newport ned, the only similarity between Palin & Haddad would be the recent "lipstick on a pig" comment. Not sure if it applies to Palin, but it's certainly apropo for Haddad.

Haddad was responsible for 5 lawsuits that I know of. 2 cops, 1 animal control officer, and 2 administrative assistants - all paid off. All suits were settled out of court by the towns insurance company. In these tough financial times insurance companies don't "give away" HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS! If there was no wrong doing on the part of Mark Haddad, they would not have settled. Someone should go to Norfolk County Superior Court in Dedham, MA and pull the dockets on the lawsuits. There you will find the truth, and it's all public record! The 6th suit that was a semi-sham by a police dispatcher was litigated (before a jury) by the towns insurance company and the town and Haddad prevailed. If the other 5 suits had no merit the insurance company would have fought them too.

It cheaper to settle than go to court. Just look at all the cases getting settled every day. It cost a lot to be right.

According to the folks in Littleton he was a great guy and he was there for a over a decade. The ugly head didn't roar their so I take it was a police issue. Fighting cops are a like battling the IRS, you can't win. Most cops have the little man syndrom and can't fight fairly, so they use the law to fight. Haddad's only fault was he didn't have the experience dealing with cops.

I only get my information from the web, so I might have it wrong. I been around long enough to see through the news reports.

Pee Wee - I agree in some cases. But why would a town/insurance company settle with so many and only fight one? We are not talking nuisance lawsuit money here, we are talking literally hundreds of thousands of dollars. Second, Haddad was not in Littleton for "over a decade". He was there a short time, and then moved on to Cohasset for 7 years (what we in town refer to as the "Haddad Era"). As far as a police issue, with his vast experience he should have been able to handle a couple of cops, shouldn't he have? The fact is that the towns insurance company stopped him from digging himself (and the town) into more of a mess. He was using his position to settle what he considered personal affronts to his authority as town manager. These cops were union officials and holding Mark's feet to the fire regarding union issues. He doesn't like that - and lashed out at them - foolishly - and without cause. The insurance company for the town told him if he continued to try to "discipline" these officers, they would consider it "gross negligence" and not indemnify the town. Add this to his roaming hands and rushing fingers, along with the Board of Selectmen seizing his office computer, and you begin to see the whole picture. Mark "resigned" for "personal reasons" after the computer was seized and his indiscretions and witch hunt were becoming public knowledge. I have nothing to prove, but I want the truth to be out there.

The game of Cohassetopoly has come back to haunt Mark. Don't pass go, don't collect $200, etc...LOL. You should arrange another secret meeting....and threaten more people....Good and Honest ALWAYS WINS!

Pant Load is a very appropriate name. Get your facts right. Haddad was in Littleton for like 7 years. The cops were drinking while shooting their pistols at a firing range. Not a good mix....It's like listening to Hardball and/or Obermann.
