Bagdad Harry wrote: <quoted text> Ok... I know I am using extreme examples here... There are thousands of successful people smoking pot everyday. And I am not a prude...I have used the stuff in the past...maybe the future. I am not against the recreational use of this drug. But my thought process changed approximately 3 years ago with the birth of my daughter. Realized then that we really shouldn't make this drug more accessible then it already is. That is my humble opinion...my friend from the North! Ahhh now I understand where yer coming from Harry :-). To be honest, a few of the friends I had that quit, did so because they ended up having kids. They felt(quite correctly) that they had more important things to spend their money on. I will say this much though, legalization/regulation of it would actually make it less accessible than it is now. It would also be safer since the gov't isn't going to try and sell you crack or heroin while yer pickin up yer weed supply, or lace it with something. I even know many dealers that are dead set against legalization. It would kill their incomes lol

The only thing pot heads get arrested for are possession or intent to distribute, unless they actually commit a crime. Soooo what!!!! Why don't we free up the pot head's jail cells for the petifiles, rapists, murderers, and arsenists? Then the jails won't be so over crowded by holding those who are NON-Threats to others. Everybody knows most police smoke up all their pot when they arrest them for it anyway. They should buy their own like everybody else!!

police do not have a right to weigh in on law issues, their job is not to delegate which laws to expand upon that is what a jury of your peers is for. that is why we vote on issues. the police in this state are fear mongering bullies with absolutely nothing better to do than parade around pushing people around. i think when 65% of the state says "we want it off the books" it means "we want it off the books" not "well we voted it this way, now its up to the police to decide we're right; because after all they are people just like you and i only with a badge. and let me tell you that badge gives them superhuman powers of future sight. they can see that this vote even though supported by a the majority of people, is wrong and its up to us to believe them and change our minds"
all of the people who are opposed to the legalization are merely dea agents or police officers who would find themselves out of a job because they can't make that big pot bust to put them in the paper (cause we all know no one wants to read about real scourges on our society like meth, heroin, crack, etc; being cut/produced right next door) that would drive down property values and then the mayor would look like a failure!

sueg32 wrote: Number of people in Mass. jails for pot possession: zero. Wake up or should I say sober up. Good point - the fact is that Cops and Judges don't realy want pot smokers to go to jail. What they want is all the money generated as a result of the arrest. Cops are funded for DARE efforts and more, Judges and Lawers get paid on all the traffic going through the courthouse and from a safety aspect, cops prefere the "easy" arrest of a stoner as apposed to the typical beat down for a person high on crack etc.... From a money generating standpoint, it's a winner. If you shift the tables and make it a leagle, taxable revenue, the Cops and judicial system loose out in a big way. Easy money for the legal system.

If you get caught with it after the 2'nd time, you go to jail. And if you get caught with a large enough amount, you go to jail. Apparently you have never dealt with the system, or you would know better before you post such nieve reply's! Why don't you smoke a fatty & mind yours.

You guys may say how we should legalize and regulate pot, but its not gonna happen. They just pass a law in mass to decriminalize it and already they are trying to make it stricter...its a bunch of BS....now they are trying to force a vaccine on you and say they can go into your house and inject your children and incarcerate you if you reject the vaccine....i smoke weed and since this sh(t started i think we have a lot more to worry about then legalizing pot....for now lets smoke on the down low till the antichrist is out of office...somone impeach this fool before he takes down the united states...oh ya and smoke one for willie
