Why can a felon not get a job around this place! People make mistakes but if they trying to do positive things and be a good citizen, shouldnt they be given a chance to work? Shouldnt people want them to do the right things, I mean really give people a chance, just because they made a mistake doesnt mean they cant work, it means they are human!!

If I was a business owner looking to hire someone, and I had two people apply for the job, one of them was a convicted felon that was released from jail 3 months ago, and the other person is a hard worker that just got laid off from their last job do to cutbacks, and has never been in trouble with the law, witch one would you hire?

There are so many people that have never been in trouble with the law also looking for a job, so why hire someone that had a chance and blew it?

If you want a job contact the trash company.

Bottom line is dont do the crime if your not prepared to pay for it . Too many people think they can get by with stealing from there neighbor or beating there kids and wife and never get caught . you might get a slap on the wrist and get out of jail but small towns dont forget . This should be a wakeup call for all the teen rifraf who break into cars and are vandals it will follow you thru life long after the crime just dont do it . Treat people like the good book says and you will be okay . If you made mistakes profess it show people a change of heart and dont act like the world owes you a break . There are people who will give you another chance in time but dont carry it like a chip your the one who messed up dont act suprised that noone trust you at first .

i havent been in trouble in over 16 years and people would still rather hire somebody that has never been in trouble that will call in sick the first week or only work till the first check than give me a job.id like to open a temporary service for felons only so that way they know they have a chance when they walk in the door.

What you did relies greatly on why people won't hire you.

Felons aren't automatically bad people. You can get a felon for numerous things. And like the man said above, felonies are on your record for life. So if you get a felony at age 19 for possession or whatever stupid charges can result in a felony, you serve your time and get out. 10 years later you have held different jobs, started a family, and have grown up tremendously. You lose your job from layoffs or whatever and not can't find another because you're a felon. Sad situation to say the least. However felons there is hope. I do know of many places that help felons (including people still incarcerated) find work. Also, the company I work for usually does require a degree, but as long as you are honest about your background, we will hire you. To the rest of you talking as if you have never committed a crime...please! All of us have done something illegal at one point in time. Don't judge.

theres illegal breaking a traffic law and then theres felon .felony , theft, murder, drug abuse , drug dealing , wife and child abuser , and more . if you want hired and your young dont fall into the lifestyle . For those who have failed show some remorse get into a good church and prove you changed there are Christian businesses that do believe in second chances no ones perfect but you have to show a change of heart after you fail your fellow man

Daily Horoscope for May 19

Gemini

You long to be surrounded by familiar faces and places today, so you'll really feel out of your depth if you're somewhere strange even if you'd usually revel in such a situation. Your idea of heaven right now is to be with family or dear friends, or with one special person, so you can relax and not have to worry about putting on a good show or being entertaining company.
