I guess when you hit low you hit LOW.
someone had left several boxes of cereal for her "five kids" today. I thought that was really nice whoever did that. I don't think she needs the money for "the kids." people around here are so gullible. she probably heard on the news what a "friendly city" this is.....lol

If she has five kids, where were they? If they were in school, they have access to two free meals per day.

Maybe she meant she needs mental help because her five kids drive her batty. Hence the need for money and not cereal.

If she needed help that bad there is Needline and there are churches that can help. She obviously has a car so with the effort she is putting forth to stand out there and hold a sign she could be driving around and putting in applications. Just my thoughts on it!! She prolly takes breaks from standing and goes to her car to play games on her new IPhone 5 or IPad. There's plenty of places hiring in Murray so there is no need to be standing around and waiting for a handout. She needs to get her shit together.

In the 80's my family fell on hard times and we worked at what ever we could to make it. We ate pinto beans and drank tea, no cokes and chips for our family. However, we made it, and today we are financially healthy. Do we give to beggars? No way, they are no better than we were, and we worked our butts off and did without, but we never begged. I can say it was not fun, but I am thankful for those years, they taught me to be thankful. I will help anyone that is trying to help themselves, but why should I give the woman something for nothing. She can clean my house, wash my car, however I seriously doubt that she would be willing to do manual labor for money. You Bible thumpers go ahead and call me mean, I don't care, the Bible says they that don't work don't eat.

You all can keep your money ! If you don't feel like helping anyone then don't. That's the beauty of it you have that choice. We all have the choice to make any decision we want . But sometimes i like to think that for ever good deed I do . A good deed will be retuned to me. Sometimes just doing something kind to others may bring kindness to your life or your children or maybe your grandchildren. My grandchldren are scattered all over the country. Some doing well and some not doing so well. I pray that if one of mine becomes a beggar and is begging strangers to help them. Regardless if their strung out on drugs, mental illness or plain stupid. I pray someone will reach out and help them.

you should have brought them up not to be beggars. if you did, they won't be caught begging. they'll be looking for a job, or letting relatives help them.

If they were Bible readers instead of thumpers, they would know that churches are only told to give to Christian widows and orphans. It is the responsibility of the church that the person is a member of to see that they have what they need. Churches are not told to provide food to anyone and everyone that is hungry, legitimate reason or not.

Matthew 25:31-46

New International Version (NIV)

The Sheep and the Goats

31 “When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his glorious throne. 32 All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33 He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.

34 “Then the King will say to those on his right,‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. 35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’

37 “Then the righteous will answer him,‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’

40 “The King will reply,‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

41 “Then he will say to those on his left,‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42 For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, 43 I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’

44 “They also will answer,‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’

45 “He will reply,‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’

46 “Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.”
