Obama is what happened. Last hospital meeting we was told if he gets 4 more years, the hospital will be more then likely closed in 5 years due to his Obama care. Not just murray is hurting. It's small hospitals all over the USA

I'm no Obama care fan and definately not an Obama fan but that fact is Murray invested way too much money in their addition to the hospital. On top of that you have primary care who provides a lot of the services the hospital use to monopolize on. Truth is the board over extended its "expansion. " Murray was a decent enough hospital to support the size of the city and county before all the additions. Now the hourly workers are having to pay the price for lousy politics. I almost guarantee their weren't any salary employees layed off. I can go to the byerly clinic and get my monthly lab work done for $40. The same lab work at MCCH is over $300. If lab corp can do it for $40 surely the hospital could do it for $100 and still make a profit. But they've got a hefty mortgage to pay every month and the community is the one that suffers. Just my opinion...

No one said it would be closed in five years. That's crap. It was due to many things, healthcare reform is one reason. The warm winter last year, the bridge collapse, and low patient numbers also contributed. And one of the big things was KY Medicaid hasn't been paying. When the governor switched Medicaid to MCOs the hospital stopped getting paid those Medicaid funds. 1.5 million or something close.

Dr. Clark would love to see the hospital fail so he could open his own.

You double posted. It is shutting down because they had few patients and those they had used Medicare and where being way over charged for what little they got. Something the health care bill no longer allows.
This unit should be shut down. It never should have been built in the 1st fucking place. It was built not to help people but to milk the government out of every dime for taking care of these brain dead zombies that should have died 3 years ago.
Those listing their jobs never should have had them at all. Why do you think the head left in sept when her contract was up? The statement she made to the board was that the care given was so substandard that she could not be a part of the program.

So spin this shit however you want. But it comes down to this:
The wing was built on greed, an idea to abuse both those in it's care and milk the tax payer for every dime they could. Let these worthless drags die in their beds in peace.

P.S. Romney's plan calls for the same limit on how much can be charged. So please fuck off and die.
Your a heartless ass is what you are! I have no problem calling a spade a spade! You can just KILL people that's called murder. I sure as hell hope that your grandparents or your elderly parents don't end up in a home... Oh wait you'll kill their worthless ass too.

And another thing those employees are just trying to do their jobs. Some have worked there for their entire working lives and that's all they know. They have nothing to do with government decisions or expansion or new areas. They try their best to do their job and go home.

I agree that place has major issues (number one being that when you call to speak to someone about your bill you get someone not at "good ole mcch" but somewhere else who can't help you with questions just know how To take your money) but have a heart man people are losing their jobs

Your going to be real sad next week.
No, I won't be sad! However, I imagine you will be sad when your food stamps and welfare check are stopped. If many more jobs are lost, there won't be enough of us to provide them for you.

The addition to the hospital was for three reasons
1. Private rooms, it wasn't safe or desirable to have 2 sick people in the same room
2. Our surgical suites were obsolete
If we were going to recruit and keep good surgeons it was essential. Maybe we should have let Paducah have that business, hind sight is 20-20
3. Our emergency we didn't have enough. People were sick sitting in the waiting room

I know because I was on the board
Politics played NO part in the decision

Too much politics going on at the hospital. The head guy, Penner, doesn't know what he's doing. He won't listen to anyone, and is running off anyone who disagrees with him.

New management is needed.

Yet, we've yet to get a neurosurgeon, so those of us that need one still go to Paducah, and a recent trip to the er I waited over five hours, meanwhile listening to doctors and cops standing outside my room talking about a child abuse case they were investigating that night, thus there goes hippa out the window. I knew details and names before it ever made the news the following day. After a five hour wait, mind you there were more empty rooms than occupied and after listening to all the local hospital gossip from the staff as well as law enforcement I chose to leave. I was in the medical field for years as well and yes politics play a huge roll in all hospitals. Was it worth laying off people in need of income to try and keep up with the jones's? I think not. And as far as the private rooms go MCCH rarely ran at capacity on inpatients, thus patients could have, on most occasions, had private rooms anyhow. Census was down not up. People may try to justify it anyway they want but in the end it's the little guys that are paying the price for this "much needed expansion. "

Just call hospice they will be gone in a week. Now all the weird nurses have a place to go work and practice their craft. Then they want you to donate.
Its called legal assisted suicide.

What the heck are you talking about "Hospice"? I do not think you know what you are talking about. Fact of the matter is, I KNOW you don't know what you are talking about. Hospice is not legal assisted suicide. They help to keep people comfortable in their last days as well as lending support to the family.

Then go ahead and donate. I have seen it with my own eyes. The only support to the family is to get a donation. You must be one of those "nurses" that likes to dole out the oxycodone in extra large doses. I heard them tell a family member of a stroke victim who couldnt speak anymore, if they want something to eat or drink they will tell us. How in the hell is a stroke victim supposed to tell you that. Just leave the crap in their diapers so we can get our donation. Yea I know. You are the smart one. Let them take care of you for a few days and we wont be reading your posts on here. Good luck with that.

Yes but they do have a point about them wanting donations. I think it is bull that they are asking gor donations and selling naming rights to everything in the building to get it built for free. Once they get the free building they will then charge a fortune to any patient and their estates chasing till theu get every overcharged dime. Just hate to see with the cost of healthcare the hospital being so greedy as to ask for donations on something they will ultimatley make millions off of.

It is sad, but you are somewhat ( well, a lot) correct.
