Has anyone here "cut the cord" and started using only streaming services? Seems like it could be much more affordable.

Pirating is illegal.

No one said anything about pirating. Hulu, Netflix, itunes and Amazon all are legal.

You're wanting to cut the cord symbolizes you're inability to make it on you're own. You show repressed homosexual desires along with latent
Pedophile behavior.

You should probably stick with the Dish.

I don't buy any of it. The money goes straight to Hollywood liberals.

An actual answer here: I have been without cable/sat for about a year now and I don't miss it. I have a little Roku box that has built-in WiFi and has Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, Crackle, etc. I have always found something to watch. Sure, you can't view the newest cable shows, but you also aren't wasting $100/month on 500 channels, only 15 or so that you actually watch.

Do you get local channels?

We've done without cable for the last 5 to 6 years and truthfully we don't miss it a bit. Netflix, Hulu, etc are great and if you don't mind the grey areas, you can grab BD quality copies of flicks before they're in store ...for free.
Cable is a waste of time/cash.
Save the money and put it toward some home media toys your family would enjoy.

There are tons of free televisions stations available to watch also. Not just local ones with digital tuner, but:

http://wwitv.com/

There is some piece of crap thing advertised on TV that plugs into USB...all it does is walk you thru getting those then ad malware to your system. Avoid it.

If you put up an antenna, yes. I have a small one indoors and it picks up WPSD and KET only, but I rarely watch them.

That seems like sound advice. Hopefully you're getting something out of my subscription and will lose it when I cancel.
