So today was the day when Zay, according to his new plea agreement was to finally come up with the money to send Mr Clement to the Dr so the torn tendons all throughout Mr Clements shoulder could start to be dealt with. For those of you who don't know Mr Clement can no longer use his arm at all now. The commonwealth atty was all ready to sign checks for this as all monies go there not to the Clements. The Clements made the appointment for the Dr and at the very last moment it was all cancelled? Why? Because when Zay said he had collected $3000 to make for what he had done to Mr Clement, he told the biggest fib he could, evidently even Zay's atty believed it. So much for the plea agreement the commonwealth atty stated. And the Clements? No prospects of ever getting the medical help that is needed. Evidently they will just fall through the cracks, being victimized by a Murray State Basketball player who felt like he is the center of all. Perhaps someone out there will have pity and give the Clements the help they so desperately need.

Zay... he should go to jail and pay Mr. Clements for the rest of his life.

This is just another reason why college, pro and even high school sports players think they are above the law... they are not!!!

Not all think this way, but many do and they are the ones who spoil it for the others.

But, everytime one bumps his/her toe it makes the headlines... it's sad that we have come down to this. However, when someone does something good it is (not always, but more often than not) either buried on the back page or no even mentioned.

In the "big picture of things" sports means squat!!!

I dare to say with the integrity you & Zay have shown if the shoe was on the other foot you &/or Zay would be the first people to file charges &/or a lawsuit. Crybabies? I think not. It doesn't matter if the victim (who is NOT Zay btw) called Zay everything but a slackin slave does NOT give him the right to throw what amounts to a temper tantrum because he had his feelings hurt. Ever heard of showing some class & just walkin away? Apparently not. If he didn't have the talent to play with a round air filled object he wouldn't be getting the "special" treatment he is receiving. Just a darn shame.

You have heard very wrong. He is going to have a FELONY charge on his record. He can never play again at MSU. He cannot get state funding for classes. He isn't even in classes this term. He was informed at the start of the term that he could not return to MSU unless he beat the charge or was found guity of a non-felony. But that as been off the table since the grand jury ruled against him on lesser charges.
He'll do 6 years. Watch and see. He should do it too. When he gets out I just hope they sue the hell out of him.
It shows you that just because you have minor talent doesn't mean you have the IQ to use it.

The new plea deal involves just months of jail time, a good portion is already served. I personally don't think he's getting much special treatment. It's his first offense and both parties accept pleas deals that suit them. That's just how it works. Would probably be the same plea deal and punishment had I been in the driver seat.

Nope. He will never play again. And he hasn't done but a week. He's going to do at least a year. The judge made very clear that he'll not accept any deal that doesn't include a felony conviction. That's a matter of public record.
I know this case. Zay messed up big time. He told Blankenship he want raised money and would bring it in and lied about it. The terms of the deal are 18 months now. 12 of which must be served.
I googled it. The NCAA doesn't allow felons. And Murray State also doesn't allow them to take classes if they are convicted of a violent felony.

His life is over.

Zay will be sentenced to 6 years with 5 years & 10 months suspended. He will serve his time that is not suspended on weekends & summer. As part of his pre-trials diversion the felony will be removed from his record at the end of that time. He will attend anger management & counseling & he is still very much a member of the team. He will play next season. His felony is not drug related, it won't affect $ for school.

Cbssports, huffingtonpost, yahoo sports, espn

All report that if he gets a felony he cannot play again.
I googled it and MSU doesn't allow them to even go to school.
No state college allows it.

He better go to trial and hope his lawyer is good and a few are some fans on the jury.

Oopsie you are wrong. That deal was was rejected by the judge.
Also he cannot be part of the team as he is not even enrolled at MSU any longer.
He'll never return to the court to play. Ever. At this point we are just waiting on the courts to rule then we are getting rid of him. If he comes out without the felony we'll let him play. Otherwise he's gone.

That's right. It's just amazing that you figured that out on your own! I'm betting on the dead part.

Gee, I guess that he's been wasting his time going to class and practicing with the team the last couple of weeks.
