elementary at Lynn
need to know

My family and I have just bought a home in the Smithville area. I'm wondering how the elementary school is there in Lynn. From what I understand I have 3 choices of schools close and since we will be in that district, how that school is. I have a kindergarten student, a third grader, and one going in fifth. I'd like to know asap. We are completely new to the area and actually haven't moved just yet. We don't know anyone to ask and I need to know if I should file freedom of choice to the other schools that are close. Thank you.

Thank you so much, that eases my mind to hear some positive comments. Just want to do the best I can for my kids. Do you know much about the administration?

*I couldn't get the reply to work. Thank you for responding. I have looked at the district's website and noticed that there are 2 teachers per grade. Are the parents able to request who their child's teachers are? If so, do you have some suggestions? I worry most about my oldest, because he really wasn't looking forward to the move. I'm also concerned with my young because she's just getting started really. Any insight would be very much appreciated. Thank you.

are you refering to the amin. in elementary at hillcrest or imboden? in my opinion there is no better school in lawrence county than Sloan Hendrix. Those folks in Imboden ALL support their school, the admin. and faculty truly are people of integrity and sincerely work together for the benefit of all their students

This thread began specifically talking about the elementary school in LYNN, Hillcrest Elementary. Obviously I was referring to it, not SH.

Mrs. Witt is a really good teacher. You're in luck there, unless she retires this summer. Sad to say but Miss D isn't coming back so there goes that choice. I have heard a bunch of kids are going to other schools, so I hope you went ahead and filed freedom of choice to the person who started this up. Think they done a bunch of moving around of the teachers, least that's the talk up at the store.
