Hey they might as well get rid of one more thing that brought people to the dells. I've watched the crowds dwindle over the last 30 years. The dells used to be about the beauty of the natural area. Something that can really be appreciated from an aireal view. They have flown helocopters over the dells since the 50's. So Mr hot shot mayor is gonna shut those bad guys down. I guess the ducks will be next. Too bad. If any more big thinkers get in to power they might even shut down the strip. Too noisy!

I agree with most of what your saying . I've been coming to the Dells since 1980 , and to be truthfull , I liked it alot better back then , especially all the Mom & Pop businesses . It's too commercialized now. There are still a few good attractions like Tommy Bartlett , Deer Park , Ducks and Boat Rides. But who needs all them water parks , there is too many . The Strip ( as it's called ) is probably the MOST DANGEROUS road in Wisconsin, and there probably will be HUGE lawsuits over deaths and accidents , in the future. They tore down Fort Dells for a stupid McDonalds and a Wallgreens , GREED took over the Dells ! Some of the People involved in that deal , should be RUN out of TOWN !

I love the dells. I've been going since I was three. I'm 27 now. Our motel was knocked down and they put up the Rainforest Resort (I think that's what it is), but oh well. My favs at the dell are the ducks, Ishnala, Indian trading post, and the deer park! So cute.:)

Now how do I show that I'm really not from VA, but from IL? lol.... I think I may just take a trip up to the Dells this winter for some peace and quiet. So what's going on with the helicopter tours? Wasn't someone killed a while back on one of those?

The Mayor Craig Cassey doesn't like the Helicopters flying over his house , it annoys him .They need a new Mayor maybe ha . winter is a good time to go , less people and better hotel rates .

Anyone from the Dells, Delton &/or Baraboo area who agrees that the helicopter tours are a great asset to the area and should stay -- please do more than just post online. Attend the next Airport Commission meeting regarding this matter on Oct 20, 2006. Send mail and email and make calls to the Mayor, the Commissioners and your local news outlets that you support and want the helicopters to stay. PLEASE do this today. Your voice is very important.
