So who said the guy was running at him? Gawd?. Maybe the guy was just throwing Scittles at the cop, but then the cop would of thought he was being assaulted and shot him anyway. Either way, stay away from guys with guns and badges.

If you search this site for the name Gregory Rosson, you see that he 1) ran into the Crozet Library one night while driving recklessly, 2) assaulted police officers who were trying to arrest him for drunk and disorderly in public, and 3) beat a woman, ran at the responding officer, and got shot.

The common thread in many of the posts on these DP news stories are Rosson's friends and family defending his outrageous actions. Too bad more of that energy wasn't put towards straightening him out.

Considering his horrible track record, their pointing the finger at the police is entirely inappropriate. If they feel the need to put blame somewhere other than with Rosson, perhaps they should be looking in a mirror instead? It's a miracle that Rosson didn't get someone else killed in one of his misadventures.
