How can any human being be cruel enough to hit someone and leave? So cruel! Prayers to the family and other loved ones.

I'll bet you one billion dollars that he wasn't an illegal immigrant. I'm not betting on whether or not he had a license.

It is a shame, when a person is killed like this, but just last week, while driving from Waynesboro towards Stuarts Draft, there was one of those little mopads riding in the right hand lane, not on the edge but in the middle of the right lane. I'm sorry the cars and trucks drive like bats out of Hell on that road. That's why the state troopers are running radar on that road so much. but no one, should be on a major road on one of those things. I had to almost come to a stop to wait until left lane was clear to move over to pass the mopad. Why should I have to do that? Same thing about bikes. I pay high taxes, both state and local on my land and homes and cars and truck. So the state can maintain the roads, but these people don't. I understand they might be poor and cant afford a car or truck, and that's all they can own, but it is to dangerous for them on the roads. We have to make a life and death decision when we come upon a mopad or a biker on the road, and it not fun when you have spent over 35 grand on a car that maybe wreaked because of hitting someone on one.

MOPED = DEATH SENTENCE
But still, brainless morons operate mopeds thinking they were Harleys,,and worse; put-putting along, no helmet, no license plate, cruising at 35 mph in a 45 or 55 mph speed zone, holding up traffic, creating dangerous passing situations - spewing smoke from their 99cc 2 stroke lawnmower engines. Mopeds are for third world countries, not US highways.

i happen to know the man who was charged. and NO HE WAS NOT DRINKING.i agree with biker dude. va's main highways are NO PLACE to ride these miniature motorcycles. they should stick to resedential areas and backroads. They should never be allowed on the highway in 50 or 60 mph zones. in any case this situation is still a very sad one. and i pray for all those involved.but the question arises- when is something just too dangerous to be driven down the road? i feel that this is one of those cases. and my thoughts and prayers go out to all those involved- D.S.A.

I happen to know the man that was killed.. jimmyjntapp... Maybe you should do your homework before making a posting. First of all Keith has always been one to move to the side of the road when a car was approaching. Second of all, where he was killed is a 35 mph speed limit and a residential area. Keith was on his way home. What kind of a person runs down someone and drives on? Prayers to Keiths family...:(

I feel sorry for all that's involved in this tragedy. Anyone that doesn't have any compassion is going down the path with the devil. Will you have everlasting life or burn in hell.

Really he was sober! what kinda scum kills someone and rides on? its not like he would get charged unless he suspended or had witness that he ran the person off the road

The kind of "scum" who gets sent to jail when what he needed was rehab. I know this guy, he has problems, but he loves his children and there was a time when his wisdom, perspective, and words of encouragement meant a lot to me. I am very sorry for all involved, but people will continue to suffer as long as so most of this country is still stuck in hate and ignorance, with pigs and courts reflecting the nation stuck in the mindset of backward fear based superstition.

What on earth makes you think that cyclists don't pay taxes on their cars and homes?

If there's some exemption I've not been applying for please let me know, because I'm paying plenty to maintain those very same roads you enjoy so much.

Let's be clear, the charges suggest this guy hit another road user then left them to die alone at the roadside while he abandoned the scene. He didn't render assistance as the law requires. He didn't call for help.

Had he done what the law requires, he might be facing a suspended license and a fine. Instead he's facing up to ten years for a felony. His problems got a whole lot worse when he made the choice to flee.

Is this really why they have a space for people to leave comments? To bash the people that were involved.. Too sad that people have nothing better to do than put down someone that they don't even know...WOW!!!
