While I know nothing of the doctor involved, this doesn't look good for the image of Augusta Health Hospital. Best patient treatments/outcomes vs. hospital's bank accounts seems a slippery slope ?

It sounds like this doctor cares about his patients. Maybe this lawsuit will help other hospitals that care more about the profit. Maybe they will change! Probably not! There's another hospital in Cville that cares more about profit than it's patients or their employees. Guess which one!

hmmm...perhaps this is why Augusta Health employees didn't get a Christmas bonus this year, the first of many to come. Gotta pay that $3 million!

"An Albemarle County judge ruled that the lawsuit between Herring and Augusta Health will be decided not by a jury in open court but through binding arbitration, and the results could remain confidential." so unsuspecting patients may continued to be snookered

One of my fellow colleagues worked there for a short time and quit. Patient care was last on the list of priorities. She went to nursing school, graduated, and looked forward to working there, didn't last 6mo before she become discusted at the lack of commitment towards patient care.

all augusta employees have to go there for medical.if they go to uva thier insur.wont cover nothing, which is the way aug, heath made sure the money stays with them.they have a agreement with insur. to pay a curtian amont for each thing they do for you, then the charge more so the employee has to pay the rest.if they cant pay it then they write it of on their taxes as a lose, how many thousonds of dollars do they make on this alone,is it legal.

Augusta Health administration is a very nasty bunch of people. 2 most mean people there are Mary Mannix and Dr. Courtney Beebe. All they care is the money and profit. Dr. Beebe fired Dr. Herring! Dr. Beebe kicked out Dr. William Toomy after he served the community for 40 years. In the last year many physicians left: Dr. Paterson, Dr. Ben Farley, Dr. David Sutton, and many more. There are other lawsuits pending so the Augusta Health lawyer Mr. Santos, who is also a board member, will be busy. In 20 years of my experience as a physician, the job at Augusta Health proved to be the worst choice I have ever made.
