Really? your ignorance pains me..... this is an awful thing that has happened and is in no way excusable but the truth is you personally have no idea who this young man is all you have is a poor picture of just this man's face, So making your bigotry self deprecating "You got a pretty mouth" comment is seriously disturbing to our human race.

Thinking what bothers me the most about this is where are her parents, they had to know this was going on... question is how long.... I know of a certain young lady that just turned 17 and is living with 28 yr old father of 2.... go figure and her mother knows all about it..

I think we should ask several more questions before jumping the gun, yes there is a 6 year age difference, why did his parents allow this, should they have not watched out for his well being too... after all he is 18, not 25 just turning into a so called adult.

most parents that have girls fear our sons and the 1st thing they do is suggest that they will call the law and file charges, this is scary for us with boys... when my son was 18 and even now being a 20yr old I tell him all the time, stay away from those girls that are still in high school no matter how well you know them and their family... one never knows when things can turn ugly on all sides... i do have to say my son would not even consider this, 12 is a little young to be so called dating all together.

Kudos to the teacher for doing the right thing! Since the girl's parents aren't watching out for her, it's nice to know someone is! As for the perv perp, he's about to get a rude awakening from Bubba and Shaquan.

Boy should have known better...Not sure why it's "aggravated" sexual battery. I guess because she was 12, but it states "abuses the complaining witness". Did the 12 year old cry wolf because the "relationship" was going bad?
code states: 18.2-67.3. Aggravated sexual battery; penalty.
A. An accused shall be guilty of aggravated sexual battery if he or shesexually abuses the complaining witness, and
1. The complaining witness is less than 13 years of age, or
2. The act is accomplished through the use of the complaining witness'smental incapacity or physical helplessness, or

The "complaining witness" refers to the victim. It doesn't mean she was going around complaining.

But did she swear out the complaint, or did the parents? Going by the letter of the law, she must have. There's more here than we are being told.

I'm very much aware of my daughter's friends. I know the families of the girls she spends the night with as well, and there's not many with whom she can spend the night. She's not dating anyone at 12 years old!!!!

Just a general comment that isn't directed at anyone---

Savvy parents have learned that one way to keep an eye on their kids is the indirect approach of watching the Facebook accounts of their little friends since they often contain things that your kid might not be telling you about.

Good parents who have a good relationship with their kids don't need to spy on them through an avatar on Facebook. Honest, predictable loving parenting doesn't need to spy.

How many kids let their parents know that they are getting drugs from their friends, shoplifting, etc? Kids don't tell their parents these things now do they? Then, one night, the naive types get that call from the police department and it's too late to turn things around.

Start saving for a bail bondsman.

Don't need to save for a bail bondsmen (sounds like you have had that experience?). Mine are all grown up and are morally straight, taxpaying, hardworking "citizens". I used that bail bond money to raise em right...

I know you guys think he's a heartless jerk who only did it for the sex. But in the letter he wrote to her before he moved out was very sweet. He said that once this was over and when she was older he would be waiting for her if she still wanted him. And everyone prole thinks I'm the minor. No, I'm just her friend. Her and I are good friends. She told me everything. I told her they would get caught. But she claimed she loved him. I told her that if she had the same feeling later in life, then I'd encourage her to go after her dream guy. I tried to stop this. She just wouldn't listen.
