Krogers recent announcement that they are lowering prices on thousands of items seems to be rather shallow especially since they have been raising prices on lots of items.Kind of reminds me of the guy selling out of the back of his old beat up pickup truck.Remke Biggs,Meijer,Costco,Jungle jims look better and better.

I have shopped at Krogers for almost 40 years. They aren't any worse than any other store. When the price of gas was way down, I would go from store to store to price check. While other stores had some things cheaper than Krogers, they also had other things marked up, to make up for the lowered prices. All stores do that. I will stick with Krogers, my hometown store. I have never been disappointed with Krogers. While I do a big portion of my shopping at Krogers, I do shop at a mom & pops meat store here locally.

I used to live in a town that had Kroger & Winn Dixie competing with each other. I found at that time that Kroger had better prices & selection on meat & dairy & that Winn Dixie had prices & or more choices on snack cakes & bakery products. So I shopped both stores since the distance was irrelevant.
Miejer, Target & Wal-Mart do the same thing. They have certain products or departments to draw in a certain clientel with low prices or selection or service & hope that you buy the other things that make them more money.
It's all part of business marketing.
Grocery stores & resturaunts operate on single digit profits in the end so they ALL do their research to do the best that they can to exist.

Kroger seemed nice the times I went to their stores in Atlanta. Publix was nicer though
