I do believe Vince is 100% guilty. Anything is possible but there's more than enough evidence pointing in his direction. He seems nice and well-spoken, but he has enough of a history of violence and criminal activity to suggest he was more than capable of committing the murder. I don't believe he'll ever confess, regardless of any deal he's offered. For one, the body was most likely destroyed with all traces of DNA long gone, so there's no body to reveal. Secondly, by confessing he would likely implicate his father and other family members/friends to charges of murder. Lastly, how would he be able to face anyone after lying to their faces for the last 15+ years and denying that he did it. Lots of his close friends probably still believe he's innocent and I doubt Vince wants to destroy their feelings towards him. I just don't see that happening.

Okay, I am NOT from the Blanchester area, I'm not even from Ohio, and I do not know any one from the Culberson, Baker, or Doan family, so I consider myself an outside, unbiased voice. I have to say I wasn't convinced of Mr. Doan's guilt and thought that most of the evidence was definitely hearsay. However... I then saw the photographic evidence of Lawrence Baker's pond. That's all the concrete evidence (or mud evidence) I would have needed to convict Vincent Doan of murder. Now, allow me to explain why. Cadaver dogs hit on that pond on September 3rd. Contrary to popular belief, cadaver dogs are NOT drug dogs. They are used exclusively to locate human remains. When they hit, they detected dead human tissue also known as, cadavers. These animals also have one of the highest accuracy rates of any other tool police use, including those with great technology. That being said, after hitting on September 3, the search abruptly stopped. The NEXT DAY, after being left unguarded and unsecured all night long, they drained that pond and the human footprints photographed at the bottom of that pond are UNMISTAKABLE. One path in, one path out. That's not hearsay, folks and it is plenty of evidence to warrant a "guilty" verdict. Sorry, but that's our legal system. I know that this is my personal insight on the evidence and that this case is a very sensitive topic for Blanchester's citizens so take this as you wish. I was 16 when Ms. Culberson went missing and was most definitely NOT a part of this investigation. I have studied homicide investigation and have studied the evidence from this trial, thoroughly. That's it.
Very valid point. I'm in agreement with you that there was definitely a body at that pond and also that Vince was responsible for Carrie's murder. I myself have not read the evidence thoroughly, only from news reports really. Where CAN I see the evidence? Does anybody know? Did Vince have an alibi for the night the pond was left unattended?

I "kind of" know a cousin to the Doan family and he is completely convinced of Doan's innocence. He was only 13 when the case occurred and was totally brainwashed by family. When I would try to bring up evidence or question things, he would get angry and tell me that Doan was railroaded and that "that bitch ran off and started a new life". hahahahaha. I told him that I thought he was delusional but I still liked him (just to avoid a confrontation) and I tried not to associate with him anymore unless I absolutely had to. I didn't want to know anyone that could be so blind and stupid on a personal level. lol

And you're right. He will NEVER admit to it. He's a classic manipulator and in my opinion, sociopath.

Not because of Doan, but because dirty police cause the taxpayers to have to pay for their wrongdoing.

The dirty police chief in this case left the pond where Carrie's body was likely hidden (dogs led police to the pond looking for Carrie's scent) on the dad's property unguarded for a day. Police can't do that. They can't obstruct justice with impunity to help out a friend's son. Dirty cops violate our trust in law enforcement and degrade the rule of law. All the courts can do is award money when the cops act wrongfully. I'm sure the family would much rather have their daughter, or at least her remains. Doan denied them their daughter, and Police Chief Payton denied them her remains.

How the hell do you even know if he really beat on her. Why because her mother and her friends say so? Her mother had something to gain by lodging those accusations at him and that was a conviction.
Check out the photographs of her bruised and swollen face in the videos here: http://www.ncmissingpersons.org/carrie-culber... . Tell me she wasn't beaten by this savage neanderthal bully. Her mother and friends had another motive: justice.

NONE of that proves his guilt. Again, speaking from a LAW standpoint. Lots of women who are battered by their men are murdered by other people. Carrie's mother, I agree, would not benefit in any way. I'm convinced that she would give anything to get her daughter back and I am also convinced that Carrie is dead. You people who think she's alive are idiots. As for the DNA, carrie's hair...if in fact it really was found there (I don't know because I haven't read the court documents), it still doesn't mean anything. Carrie could have been in that truck any time in the past. She knew Baker. And as for the paint on the car....there's no proof that it's from Carrie's car. AGain, all circumstantial. This case has holes all over it. Even if he is guilty, which he may be, there still wasn't enough evidence to convict. He was only convicted because of an impartial jury in the same county that she went missing...which is NOT good. Especially in a little farming county like Clinton County.
Hey Mr. Law: circumstantial evidence is just that: evidence. If you can gather enough of it and put it before a jury, it can form a basis to convict, which is exactly what happened in this case. Note that he did not get the death penalty--a sign of some doubt in the jury's mind, though not enough to find him innocent. When murderers hide their tracks well, they limit the amount of evidence available: thus the admissibility of circumstantial evidence for the jury to weigh as it sees fit.

Also, to set the record straight, understand that inadmissible hearsay only exists when the statements of another are offered at trial "for the truth of the matter." Testifying to what one sees or hears is not hearsay, nor is reporting what another said to you, so long as it is not offered to prove the truth of that assertion. So all the evidence about Doan's abuse his sister-in-law's testimony that she saw blood on his shirt are not hearsay, though they are circumstantial. The triers of fact in this case weighed the evidence and came to a reasonable conclusion--that there was no REASONABLE doubt that he killer Carrie. End of story.

Even those that don't know the story, it definitely wasn't a fair trial. You can't convict someone in jail for life with no evidence.
Vincent is actually a family friend with my mom and dad (dad is deceased now)
I have never met him but just reading about it, it doesn't seem very fair... I hope people consider that fact.

Well thank God you weren't part of the jury then or this sick scumbag would be walking the streets ready to kill again! News flash...you should do some research, this isn't the first time this sicko has killed somebody...Karma is a b#$&h tho bc this ahole recently got part of his nose bitten off by one of the dogs he was training at the prison! He was probably beating the dog the same way he used to beat his beautiful young girlfriend of his before he violently took her life!

I don't know if Vincent killed Carrie or not, all I know is that I don't believe this young man had a fair trial. This is the first case that I've known about where testimony was all "hearsay". Why in the world would anyone try a case with nothing but hearsay evidence. If Vincent is guilty then he is where he belongs, but if innocent, he doesn't belong in prison for life. If I were a juror on this case I would have never found him guilty on such flimsy evidence. No body, no forensic evidence, nothing. We're talking about a young man's life here people. He at least deserves a new trial. JMO

thats. Being very judgemental of a person you never had the opprotunity to meet. Vincent was and is a good person who was wrongfully convicted of the disapearance and murder of a known drug addict...

sounds to me like you have a personal problem with vincent. Im just stating facts. oh and its real mature saying that im ignorant because i have my own views. A wise man once told me, "believe none of what you hear and only half of what you see" nobody has proven his guilt beyond a doubt... and
remember karma is a bitch so ya may want to stop wishing harm on other people. It will come back to haunt you...

I have never met anyone even related to Vince OR Carrie, for that matter! And YOU OR ANYONE ELSE IS IGNORANT TO TURN THINGS AROUND ON THE VICTIM! YOU should be the one afraid of Karma being a bitch! Hope nobody that you love gets killed or goes missing for YEARS and you have IGNORANT peolple taking up for THE MURDERER!!!!!!!!! Sounds to me that maybe YOU were invovled somehow. IF you think that someone like Vince is a 'good person" You MUST have mental problems so maybe we should over-look your statements on here! PLEASE, go get help for your illness!
