Hello, I recently (this year) moved here from a little town in Kentucky (Glascow). I moved for my job - I work in the medical field. I didn't spend much time looking and ended up renting close to where I work. Now that I've been here a little while I'm buying a house. Are there areas close to downtown with good resale values? Schools not an issue. Norwood? Kenwood? Hyde Park? Also, anyone know anything about Sibcy real estate agency. good? Love it so far. Made lots of friends and really feel like this is home!

Depends on income. Do NOT move to Avondale, or Walnut Hills, Evanston, Lower Price Hill, 8th & State. DO move to Amberly Village, Indian Hills, Colerain, Anderson or Green townships,
This is the short list without explaination.

I think you made a bad decision to move to Cincy, I moved here 6 years ago, and this city is the worst place I have ever lived! I am moving away from this city, as soon as I get packed! Good luck with Duke Energy, and all the other crooked companies you must pay! There is no where in Cincy that is safe to live! It is all bad, bad, bad!

I was born in Cincy but raised in the county. I have also lived in L.A. for a year, El Paso for a bit & lived in Lex & Nicholasville KY for 34 yrs combined. I have visited 28 other states too besides a tour in the army. Know what I learned? MOST places are what you make of them. What you are looking for & what you expect.
EVERY major city has bad & good neighborhoods, bad & good government officials. That is one of the good things about Cincy. IF you don't like it, live in one of the 'burbs. Silverton, BlueAsh, Loveland, West Chester, Miamitown, Middletown, California, etc etc & commute if that works for you. Then there is Northern KY or Southeastern IN.
The mass transit is not so hot but you still get to take advantage of things that a smaller population base can't support. Numerous fine museums, a world class zoo, a large river, several good lakes & parks, & amusement parks within a 30-90 minute drive, the Krohn Conservatory, Opera House, shopping & eateries, Oktoberfest, major league sports, race tracks of assorted kinds, casino's, downtown lofts & condo's, 4-6 fine universities, one of the very best & highly rated Children's Hospitals in the country & even more hospitals than that. Just be selective as to where you live in a 25 or so mile radius.
Leaving This City Soon should probably do just that if one is not happy. NO place is perfect. Go where you fit & feel good.
Personally I do NOT live in the city, I don't believe that I would like it there but in 15-20 minutes I can be downtown or in 15-20 minutes I could be in KY or Indiana. That leaves me in reach of all kinds of job opportunities but just outside of practical mass transit. I'm cool with that.

This is a good list; I grew up in Anderson, so I am partial to the East side...
