I want to thank you so very much for making life so much more difficult for those of us with genuine medical needs. I have suffered from kidney stones for almost fifteen years. For twelve years when I felt one on the move I could call the office and they would phone in a prescription for 15 Lortab 5 to guide me through the next three or four days of pure agony. (For those who've not had one try peeing a ball of nails the size of a golfball) This happens every 9-12 months or so. Imagine my painful surprise when I felt one on the move this past week, made my phone call only to find out that because of YOUR abuse and activities I can't simply do that anymore. I have to see a pain specialist, who reviews my needs then makes a recommendation. I can THEN make another appointment to see my doctor who evaluates THAT recommendation, and THEN I can get a prescription. Time frame: I can see my doctor Sep 17th. By then it will have passed on its own in a very, VERY uncomfortable fashion. So, as I sit here hoping the hot shower I'm about to take is going to easy it a little more I will be thinking about how ticked off I am at all of you.

They really have made thing's terrible for those who really need pain meds and it's a shame! I hope that you pass the stone quickly and without much pain

Similar situation here, although I've never had the "joy" of kidney stones. Hoping for a quick recovery for you. Time passes right along and the pain won't last forever (small comfort I know).

I've recently discovered that seeing a reputable pain specialist without insurance is insanely expensive, up-front and otherwise... but don't want to go to the "less reputable" places for obvious reasons.

People are going to do whatever they are going to do, and I can't expect the abusers to worry about their far-reaching effects on total strangers. But I still wish they'd consider it sometime.

I can't really blame the doctors, as much as I'd like to - they get held accountable for what the general public does with the medications that they don't even manufacture. You don't see Wal-Mart being held responsible for someone shooting somebody with a gun they bought there.

First off top. I no how bad they hurt an I have had them several times over the years. But let's not say they are golf ball size. Almost anything larger than u can see. They have to be surgically removed. I do feel ur pain. But. Pillheads are the cause of everything wrong in the world today

It's not just pill heads that cause everything wrong in the world today. Honestly I don't know why everyone picks on pill heads, because anyone and everyone that takes a pill, in my book you are considered a pill head yourself.

Other things that cause wrong in the world today is: murderers, politics, thefts, not just meth and pill heads. Apparently some people have never heard of medicaid. If you have medical coverage, or at least get medical coverage to help with their medical needs. Its not the pill heads fault if people don't or can't get the medication that they need. Honestly I'd rather it be that people have to have a monthly doctor's appointment to get their medication, it should have been like that for years. You can thank the Government for that reason, not the pill heads.

Yes, Lou. I KNOW it wasn't really that big. But you must know that even the smallest kidney stone FEELS that size! LOL! Look, when the drug addicts couldn't get a quick enough high on Heroin, LSD, or smoking something, they cooked up "Crack". When THAT stopped being the fix-all, they moved onto mfg Meth. Last flu season, with 4 kids (3 sick) and 2 adults in the home, I tried to purchased 2 Nyquil and 2 Dayquil, plus needed a child's decongestant. Oops! Not so fast! I can only purchase 2 of those items. So I had to send my husband in to double dip. BTW: if they see you together, they'll report you for it. It's not just medical necessities; its affecting EVERYTHING we do! And as devastating as Meth is, I'm sure they're finding a better more effective way to get high as we speak. And Sherry: my mother is 71, takes BP med, sugar, thyroid, aspirin, multi-vitamin and anti-seizure. I'll be damned if I'd include her as a pillhead under your criteria.

Stop blaming the pill heads and meth and all that crap for something that they didn't even do. And yes I am defending them. You know how I prevent kidney stones? I drink plenty of water and every now and then I have a beer. You can prevent things and yes I know somethings can't be prevented, but stop blaming pill heads.

I think its great that you can be so healthy and live a preventive lifestyle. I, on the other hand, don't get kidney stones through the environment. In Kentucky, the limestone in the water causes them; therefore, lots of water, the occassional beer and cranberry juice would keep them under control. Unfortunately, I produce uric acid naturally and therefore the kidney stones continue to reoccur. Most don't HAVE health insurance, therefore can not make a monthly appt to a doctor, therefore go to pill-mills or less reputable doctors for pills; therefore, the state of Kentucky in their wisdom have locked everything down. It's frustrating the hell out of physicians as well.

"Blaming the pillheads, meth...for something they didn't do". Let's see, they DIDN'T get a freakin' job, the DIDN'T think about others when they started mfg; they DIDN'T think about the impact on others when the used all their $$ to get pills and then went to the gov't to get food. How about the guy the other day that stabbed his girlfriend to death in front of her two children because she bought McD's for them instead of pills for him? Oh yeah, lets defend that SOB. You can go visit him in jail and kiss his butt for a while. Maybe when he gets out you can hook up with him and pray to God he doesn't stab YOU when you buy gas instead of pills for him. BTW: I drove my daugther to the police station and turned her in after her methlab exploded. I was devastated, clueless. Giving them $$ for rent because they couldn't find work. NOPE! Just too damn lazy, and they used the $$ to mfg meth. Didn't recognize the signs; just thought they were struggling to make it. I just wasn't aware of what they were making. Pissed? Yep. Sad? Yep. But they made the choice. You defending them just doesn't make sense.

I'm sorry for your daughter's choices; it is sad. However, I would like to applaud you for turning her in ~ as most family, or even friends would not. I suffer from debilitating chronic pain, and usually spend more days hospitalized than not out of the year. I empathize greatly, as it is completely agonizing to develop stones ( although all 3 times they were surgically removed immediately after X-ray ). Bravo for your common sense, and no BS taking attitude. I applaud you, and would gladly stand by you. May God help you with the pain and complete discomfort you are dealing with presently :)
